Why is De Gea always made out as the fall guy? why isn't Rafa and Valencia blamed for the goal? given that it was their mix up which led to the equaliser! Also what about Vidic completely taking out De Gea as he was trying to punch the ball away? the media, pundits and supporters need to shut up!
--------------

Vidic did not completely take him out. He made a halfhearted jump to block off the Spurs player. De Gea bottled it and went with one hand instead of two to protect himself. He should have gone with two and taken everything before him.

No denying how big an a-hole Hansen is.

The big dane should have wiped the irksome smirk of the di ckheads face.

Hansen is such a mug. He acts like his is the only opinion that counts. Even though his opinions are regulalry shown up on motd.

On the topic of motd, when hart makes a mistake it is seen as unlucky or unfortunate but when its de gea they say its terrible and is massive mistake

What was the gist of it, I don't see Motd.

Basically Schmeich has every faith in De Gea to become a great, and I'd take his word over the bitter Hansen.

How many 'clangers' has he dropped this season? I count two - Fulham and Newcastle. The goal on Sunday was a mixture of poor defending. Evra, in particular, was an absolute disgrace during the build up to that goal. A disgrace.

The media reaction has been outrageous from day one. I've never seen them so readily available to vilify somebody, beyond the stage of constructive criticism. The main reason for that is the media's obsession with having a 'world class player'. They have single handedly convinced themselves that Hart is the best. An opinion that isn't shared anywhere around the world. Having a thin, Spanish 'flair' keeper playing at other side of Manchester, who originally struggled, is competition for that mantle. So they're resorting to bullying. I include Gary and his increasingly bullshiit opinions. His hatred towards young foreign players in comparison to their English counterparts is very boring. The England job has weakened his punditry.

Anyway, the point you make isn't terrible. But this idea he drops clangers all of the time isn't true. He's been accountable for about 3 of our goals in over a year. He's improving nicely and has generally improved his aerial presence by quite some distance in comparison to last season. I personally think he'll be fine.

I will add that Sir Alex publicly dropping him after his first mistake of the calendar year back in August, combined with that mindless and unnecessary period of rotation, is one of the major reasons the media went back into overdrive. I said at the time that the decision was madness and no good would come of it. Turns out I was right.

Kagawa, spot on.

I think it's great Ferguson has finally stopped the silly rotating of keepers, think De Gea has started the past 10 or 11 games now. Don't expect that to change any time soon

Considering his age and the fact that his problems are one of the problems easily solved through training and organisation, any ideas of selling what is simply a game-saving goalie is ludicrous.

In 2 years he will be the best keeper in the league. 5 yrs a world class player. This lack of patience is getting hilarious.

Wouldnt be surprised at all..he hasnt got the presence to command his box albeit has other great attributes to his game

Anyone remember what happened to all the goalkeepers between schmeichel and vds???

posted on 22/1/13

The problem De Gea has is that people are used to seeing a truly world class keeper on VDS between the sticks.

De Gea is nowhere his level and might never be, but because of who he's replaced the expectations are far higher.

Patience is all we need. He's a goo keeper now and could become great given time.

Luiz gets the same treatment as well. We did tell you that he gets way too much focus on him. MOTD would dedicate a little segment on Luiz. De Gea gets the same treatment too.
