this sort of article was always pretty good for a laugh back on 606 but i fear the lack of numbers here will limit the fun factor.

insidious ( AKA Council) is probably tempted to tell us why hes a big fan of a merger but would settle for a shared stadium but im not sure hes around.

Oh do grow up.

isnt life sweet with that grey bar that says FILTERED ........................... bingowings , you're history

And by the way Cas (one S) do not intend to prop up glovers dodgy finances, Wakey will be back in admin in 2 years

posted on 29/7/11

Wakey have said in the past they won't share with cas. Well if neither club is playing in a new stadium within 3 years their both gone from Super League, Step forward Halifax and Leigh.

Must say i agree with The Big Fella, this licence is last chance saloon for the teams who said they would be in new stadiums (cas and wakey), and those who dont attract decent crowds (Quins/Broncos/London Crusaders/Fulham or whatever they are called these days!).
Leigh and Halifax will be waiting next time and Leigh have already ticked the on field criteria with their recent Northern Rail Cup win. They can now do what widnes did after they wont it and spend the next two years sorting finances and youth team out so all boxes will be ticked. Barrow and Featherstone appear to be doing things to their grounds and Toulouse may have dropped out of the championship but you can guarantee they will be applying again as theyve just had local government funding to upgrade their stadium.
I know Wakey/Cas dont feel they can share a stadium together but much bigger teams (Inter/A.C Milan plus most Aussie rugby teams share their grounds to save money so why cant they?
Last chane guys or theres a good chance you will both be out

shouldnt they just be forced to merge??

what is it with you cheese don't you like cas or wakey you will be saying hull and rovers should merge nexst no team should merge if they can not go by themselves fold and let somebody else have a go

posted on 29/7/11

keep it coming ......... the suggestion you make, makes so much sense - that you just know it'll be ignored.....!!!

cas and wakey were told last time that it was a new ground or they were out.

both promised they would have grounds.

what happened??

neither have grounds.

both have plans, but then i have plans to win the lottery. i have a sneakey feeling my plans are more realistic than either cas or wakeys, even both put together.

in the longer term hull and HKR should also merge yes of course.

Ground share would be perfect for each club. To have a stadium used on a regular basis with shared cost must be a no brainer.
The clubs must get together to look at the state of play.
When Wakey last stated no ground share neither club came close enough to having a new stadium.
IT WOUL BE A FANTASTIC to shre the running costs.
The only debate would be what stadium, with neither proposal that far advanced.

posted on 29/7/11

could just debate it for the next 15 yrs or so and string everyone along about maybe starting a stadium soon, next week/month/year/.

force them to merge.

coooeee insidious, i can see you...lol

Merger would never work, ground share would
Each team could become theclub with plenty of spare cash.
In my view it would also build a very good case to the RFL

posted on 29/7/11

ONLY a merger will work. it will save the league from 2 mediocre filler teams and possibly create a team which could well challenge the same old same olds.

Ground share is a great idea.
Imagine what the insurance to hold a game is worth, besides the maintenance down the track etc.
All the costs halved would save each club a small fortune.

The Olympic Stadium at Homebush in the NRL is sponsored by ANZ bank and is shared by South's & Bulldogs and when you go to a South's home game all the lights and the score board is decked out in red-n-green whilst the next week the Bulldogs will have a home game visa-versa with all the colours etc.

You don't ever feel as if you are not playing at home, even when they clash, it's just a matter of who has the home game.

South's earn from the consortium who own the ANZ stadium $150,000 per game played there regardless of the crowd but if they generate a crowd of over 30,000 they recieive $250,000 from the consortium.

Last weekend the Bulldogs played at home on the Friday night with Souths playing there on the Sunday afternoon plus a test match of rugby union on the Sat. night.........somebody is making a small fortune and who is to say the same won't happen at Wakey & Cas.

Ground share is the way to go

The unwashed are welcome to come and share at Glasshoughton but they prefer the white elephant at Newmarket. I suppose that just helps to keep the town clean, no peacock or lupset chavs shoplifting and the like

Bingowings , you are history

Nice coming from a club that left local businesses in danger of going under, just to save their own worthless skin ......... Shame on them.

As for grounds, when GH is built it will be self financed and not scrounged like the white elephant at Newmarket. ( Yorkcourt already trying to get out of the deal now the land has been reclassified)

Fingers .............. make your mind up is it 3 or 6 that we have ???? pmsl. we only need two to wave at the unwashed over at belle end

Isnt life pleasant without bingowings cheesy
