I've got to agree with Otep on this:-
Oxford 2 Brewers 0
Not only can we not win away, we can't score goals either.
Managers regularly say that you won't win many matches if you have to come back from 2 nil down.
It's also true that you will not win many matches if you only score 1.
I'm glad that we are only about 6 to 8 points from absolutely safety because I fear that we will not get away with this awful football for much longer.
2-2 last season with two from Justin Richards. He'll be watching from the stands so no chance of a repeat.
3-0 defeat the year before, when we finished with nine men.
A 2-1 defeat in our promotion season, though it was a late consolation from Aaron.
A 3-0 win in March 2008 with goals from Daryl Clare and Keith Gilroy (2)
0-0 in March 2007 with Lee Bell on the bench.
Long while since we've had a 0-0 so I'm going for this
Oxford will want to bounce back after their terrible result at Fleetwood.
Law of averages say we are due an away win and as I am going we better win!
Ox 1 - 2 Brewers
I would be happy with a point, but I am going with the same sort of game as Saturday another ugly win and that will do for me. I think the fact that games are still being won this way proves we are getting harder to beat.
COME ON YOU BREWERS
Oxford 0 - 1 Brewers.
Decided to make this game so would expect a boring 0 - 0 draw! That said, I do think we are strong at the moment and we do have the strikers to score us goals so:
Oxford 1 - 3 Brewers
As a Swindon supporter I obviously detest the Pox.
Thus I'm tempted to go for Pox 0-4 Brewers.
However, coming back to reality I'll go for 0-0
A hard fought 2-1 win for th'Albyun
I cannot see a win coming tonight I'm afraid. in view of our lack of goals the game seems to have a 0.0 bore draw written all over it. I will go for that.
Great fish and chips in the set up across from the stadium, lovely on a wet and miserable night!
Enjoyed the game, although the football was pretty dire. The pitch was atrocious and I was informed that they play rugby on it as well - not good for free flowing football!!
First half we pretty well dominated, had one or two half chances but Ox slowly got back in the game and should have gone in at half time one up if not for Tommo. What a save, and I mean it, WHAT A SAVE!! Ox came round the back following a brilliant cross into the box, 5/6 yards on the volley screaming into the back of the net and somehow Tommo got his right hand to it and parried it away for a corner - match saving!
Second half was pretty much end to end stuff and at times exciting. Calv went off having struggled a little I thought, he looked pretty tired (or was he saving himself for a transfer???) on came Billy who again looked a little off the pace and had one chance towards the end which he screwed so far wide of the target it ended up going out for a throw in half way between half way and the corner flag!!
Defensively we coped really well, apart from the goal which was a bad one to give away. Jacques got the goal, but I thought he was pretty quiet again, Belly got well stuck in and Pato was everywhere, chasing everything - loads of effort and I thought one of our best players.
All in all GR got it right imho - 442 is our best formation, that said Mags and Drury especially struggled to get into the game because there was so much hoof ball down the middle!
Well done GR, third in the table (is that the highest league position ever?) is an amazing place to be and fully deserving with this battling squad of players. UTBs
Well done Brewers.A great point away from home. There are 3 points for the taking this Saturday, but we all know by now anything can happen.
Third on table, not bad at all GR.
Come on you Brewers
