Out of the 4 I picked for nomination who would Wanyam replace? i think the 4 I picked have had better seasons.
Wanyama is still 21 so that is why i put him in the Young Player Category.
McKay & Shinnie - very little competition outside those mentioned by BTG.
Wanyama has been outstanding, I would look no further than him to be honest.
Other than that glaring omission you've got it about right.
Wanyama has been outstanding in Europe but the player of the year relates to football in Scotland and not European performances.
I don't think he for example has outperformed Andrew Shinnie who has had an incredible season for ICT. I think Wanyama is the better player, that much is obvious but Shinnie has contributed more to his team and has excelled beyong his capabilities.

Takes a lot of grit to try and outshine the great wall. Regardless fo whether he succeded or not

Lustig isn't first choice Ghod, Matthews has had a better season than him so far IMHO.
Matthews has been better in the SPL but Lustig has had a blinder in Europe this season.
people dont have a clue about fitba
Got a feeling Scott Brown might get it, outside Celtic I think Shinnie has been class. Mcginn and mckay looking good also, think niall is better all round player of those two.
Terrible thing to say about yourself Ghod
BT I can only assume that you haven't seen many Celtic matches. Not only has Wanyama been superb, he's been consistantly superb.
Irvine, It's all just about opinions and there are plenty of Celtic fans on here the last few days saying that Wanyama has been off the boil recently.
This is not who is the better player as that would be a different outcome but when you take away the European performances I think my 4 nominations are the players of the season so far.
Who would your 4 be?
McGinn and McKay have been the standout performers for me in the SPL this season.
GMS blows hot and cold, but he is immense and incredibly entertaining to watch, so would probably get the nod for YPOTY imo.
I don't watch that many Celtic games, but the ones I have seen, Wanyama hasn't really stood out for me tbh.
I guess I'm just missing all the good games, the way the Celtic fans rave about him?
I've maybe only seen a couple of SPL games involving Celtic this season though. In Europe and again in the cup at the weekend, he was nothing special.
Wanyama
McGinn
Hooper
McKay

Correct, thats why Man United are looking at him
Sorry I cant help as I have no interest in the SPL!
Can't really argue with your 4 choice players, but it seems harsh to leave out McGinn
As for the young player, I'm not to sure we can have GMS in there just yet as he's been out a lot of the season, Armstrong has been good all season. But if GMS stays fit for the rest of the season it could be different.
Unless something drastic happens at ICT then I think its only fair a player from their team should win it they've been outstanding this year. And Butcher at the moment surely is manager of the year .

It was a tough call westcoast but Andrew Shinnie I think has had the better season so far.
I was swaying between Barry Douglas and GMS but the young player of the year traditionally doesn't have to have done it for the whole season as Danny Wilson showed a few years back.
Wanyama
Hooper
McGinn
McKay
