Jacko,
If today's Examiner report is to be believed then Pressley could be a non starter. Here's what they have to say:
"Town's head of football operations Ross Wilson is playing a central role in the search for a fifth manager in as many years. His time at Falkirk, where he worked before a stint at Watford has led to speculation over 39 year old Pressley. However, it seems that while pressley fits the bill in terms of being relatively young, ambitious, driven and flexible in terms of Chairman Dean Hoyle's blueprint for taking the club forward, Town are concerned at being seen to be handing out "jobs for the boys"
So, lets hope he is a non-starter then.
Does that also exclude Lillis then, as he is definately one of the boys...
I know nowt of Pressley...apart from he got Falkirk relegated, played a lot of football up in Scotland...and sounds to be a bit of an opinionated sort of guy (which isn't always bad). But it's a big risk with our Championship status at risk...and a likely hit of about £10m.....I don't think Deano is that much of a gambler.
Suppose it depends on who else is in the frame...

One Hung Lo,
You're new on here? - But you sound so familiar - no relation to Bootsy then?
JK...re-born ?
Noooooooooooooooooo
“… what of Jackie Hunt being handed a 3 million price tag, must make those choking jokers who hounded his ability and performances, particularly following that infamous shakers match wonder how on earth they could ever get him and football in general so very wrong…”
Point of information, Mr. Chairman…
At the age of 20, much to the disappointment of many Everton fans, a certain Francis [‘Fox in the box'] Jeffers was sold to Arsenal for £8m pounds in June 2001, after he rejected a reported £28,000-a-week contract. Now aged 32, his career has also taken him to Charlton, Blackburn, Sheffield Wednesday, Newcastle Jets, and Motherwell, plus loan spells back at Everton, at Rangers, and Ipswich.
The former wunderkind currently plays for Maltese Premier League club, Floriana
In the words of Jimmy Cricket… “And there’s more!”

And in need of a change,
For there weren’t any men out my way.
And I’m tellin’ you pal,
It was no fun for a gal.
Where the deer and the antelope play!”
Mr. Lo, are you in any way related to that famous Chinese magician, Wot Went Wong?
Wasn't Wot Went Wong the wife of one Mr Wan King Captain???
As 4 U Mirfielder, Insofar as it is said we are all of us related to one another then yes i suppose i could cede you that one, however one might say your closer to Atilla The Hurn with your Ural challenges and Volganess than I to the one known as j boot, who as i'm sure your well aware drove many like Bryce critically close to insanity with his downright dottiness ...... True to say I've had a flit around the ja site but can but see very little of that brigadierial brag-adier other than occasional references on a clearly irritated Amchaff orientated thread. As for the precept you pose in your arsical i would say your wrong when asserting Adkins salary is an obstacle (he's reportedly now pretty much financially secure for life) but bang on the money when stating a "bigger transfer budget" will be one of this prospective managers key demands and clearly this together with a raised player salary cap is whats stood in the way of the speedy Grayson/Adkins Out/In appointment Hoyley doubtless had in his mind when venturing to be so shockingly sackingly bold, though I do note Mr Mirf you'd had the foresight to predict this action so for that I'll retract my fore skin and raise my titfer to you.
Are we of one mind when concluding Hoyles restrictive, hands on approach thus far has practically strangled the life out of managers other than yes men, Yes he has a vision but its so protracted you'd need a telescope the size of Jodrell Banks to see the far end of it.
I do just wonder you know whether Claire Balding might be just right for this role as its clear she's straddled many an unseeming divide in her time, What Sir do you make of this proposal?
Time for a woman to take the reins ?
Clare Balding?
She’s Rugby League!
Anyway, enough’s enough! D. on a b. (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1299144) is on just about everything projected by the idiot’s lantern these days… apart from everything that Jo Brand is on.
Town need someone as tough as old boots.
Well there's not much of the male domain left for women to invade, so Hoyley might as well break the ice and appoint one as our next manager.
Lets be honest, we now have women cricketers, boxers, golfers, linesmen (sorry lineswomen), firefighters, electricians, airline pilots, meter readers, security guards, architects, funeral directors, truck drivers and welders and Gabby Yorath has now stepped in to become a leading sports presenter.
Thing is though, who do you reckon would be suitable to become the first one? - Could it be Mitzi, Amelia Chaffinch, or do we play safe and go for someone like Gabby Yorath, Kirstie Gallacher, or Tanya Arnold.
I reckon it's only a matter of time before one is appointed and it's a while now since Town broke any records (43 match unbeaten run was the last one- ), so lets be the first to appoint one, because I'm sure they couldn't make a worse fist of it than some of the current male incumbents.
Mirf, this is a classic, well done!
'As far as "Rookies" are concerned you've obviously never heard of Darren Ferguson, who got Peterborough
promoted up into League One in his very first full year of management and then followed this up the year after, by taking them up into the Championship.'
'Darren also got Posh relegated...'
LV69,
You need to do your homework much better.
Ferguson was not in charge when Posh got relegated during season 2009-10, since he left them during Nov 2009 and joined PNE. Mark Cooper took over the reigns when Fergie left but was later sacked and replaced by Jim Gannon during Feb 2010,
So when Fergie left them there was still 30 league games left for Cooper and Gannon to save Posh from relegation, but they failed and it was nowt to do with Fergie.
hmmmm.
It would seem 'Glory' isn't so easy to come by eh LV
Mirf, you do make me giggle!
Those quotation marks on my last post were your words. I think you are the one to do your homework, re-read our posts and when you do, go to the back of the class and put your hands on your head. Oh, don't forget the peaked hat!
Bad news today Darn, Perth Glory just missed out on Becham, he's gone to sunny France instead!
LV69,
You right - me wrong.
Must have been down to that strong Hardy's red wine I'd been swigging, which had obviously dulled my brain.
PS: I'll get you next time.

Does it really matter who we appoint?
