Everyones entitled to their opinion, but negativity never helps."

Eh? Negativity never helps?

Were we not negative of PLG? Did that not cause us to bin him and bring in Walter Smith who then took us to a European final and won us lots of trophies?

I would class that as helping would you not?

Mitre

We were competing for something then. We are out of Europe for three years, we are not in spl, we are not spending £35 million on wages, we are working our way through the leagues, that is the objective.

If the objective is getting through the lower leagues of scotland, any way we can, with no thoughts for what state we will be in when we get back, then fine.

Surely we should be using this time to teach our young players how to play correctly. Teaching them to play exciting football, so when they get back to the top, we dont have to shell out £ms to journeymen players to get ourself back into debt.

Why settle for just getting through the leagues when we can use this opportunity to change things and actually come back strong?

Under McCoist, that just cannot happen.

Mitero , maybe if we'd stuck with PLG we would not be in the position we are in now. Anyway for all our differences Mitero we are all Rangers supporters. WATP. Have a good day and remember.....ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE. I'm off fur a pint.

So jumping on the players and managers back after every dodgy result helps this? All you do is foster a win at any costs attitude. I'm all for playing more young players, but you have to accept they will play poorly occasionally.

Or maybe the current Manager of Oman was just worse than everyone thought.

There is no doubt that Ally has something to prove. Winning div 3 at a canter is not a test of his managerial credentials. Anyone of us could have done a similar job.
I must admit my opinion of Ally as a manager lies more with MItre's viewpoint than the OP's.
We are truly shocking against These 3rd division teams. We have zero creativity....we do not have a proven goalscorer , our defence is weak ( apart from Wallace ) and yesterday we lacked courage, desire, sharpness, and actually talent.

The buck stops with the manager.....I honestly hope I'm wrong....but I see no improvement in anything we are doing.

Obie / mitre

What difference would a new manager make now? We can't sign players anyway.

==================================

He could get the players doing passing drills and possibly have them playing a better style of football.

Players like Shiels and Sandaza seemed to perform much better for their managers last year would you not agree?

Also, I would hope that the players fitness could be improved. Some of the players look to be blowing out their erse after about 70 minutes. Which seems to be backed up by the late goals we concede against opposition.

Spike....motivation,tactics,discipline, team formation,selecting future players,training, fitness....apart from that not a lot.

I understand what you mean about signings...but surely there is more to management than that,,?

Also...Ally hasn't proved ( in my opinion ) that has an eye for a player...

What difference can a new manager make?

Playing people in their correct positions, not playing a defender that makes major errors every single week. Dropping players that have been annonymous in most of the games.

THat would be a nice start.

I would actually suggest that by supporting McCoist in doing these things "just to get through the leagues" its actually you and hillbilly fostering the win at any cost attitude.

posted on 3/2/13

So you're suggestion is an entire new coaching and scouting team. Its not just one man.

Well each to their own gents....I hope you don't get your way......although a new scout wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'm away to watch £35 m of wages hopefully struggle against RR.

It's not for losing against United it's the performances in general. We haven't played well all season, it's just because other teams take points off each other that we are so far ahead.

PLG was hunted for less.

1.8 million on Sebo......that's enough to do Le Guen in!!

McCoist has wasted his fair share of money already as well though.
