"do you think it may be time to cash in on him in the summer?"

Absolutely NOT.

Talk about jumping the gun. He's a top goalie he can still play for 4/5 more years. Just because you lot have Courtious waiting doesn't mean you can get rid of Cech. Until Courtious is better, Chelsea would be fools to get rid of Cech.

I'm not saying we should do this, but just seeing if anyone really does

Cech is mid-thirties? I thought he was 30? And why in the world do you think you'd get 15m for a player of his age?

Why can't we use both Cech and Courtois like Man U do with DeGea and the other bloke?

-----------------------------------------------------------

Exactly, this is what I´ve been saying.

We play so many games per season over so many different competitions it seems ludicrous to constantly rely on one keeper.

How many games will we have played this season in total ?

If we brought back Courtois then we could divide gametime between the two.

So one could play all league games and the other could play all European and domestic cup games for example.

If we bring back Courtois and get him incorporated into Chelsea now then we wont risk losing him and we wont have to worry about Cech getting injured.

Having both Cech and Courtois together at Chelsea will give us a better idea of who is the better keeper and who should be number 1 keeper.

Competition will only bring out the best in both keepers.

What the fackin hell chaavs. Please give us Cech if you don't want him. Seriously how can you even think of getting rid of him?

Neither Cech or Courtois would accept that. One would be playing in the big games and that is what would make all the difference.

-----------------------------------------------------

Gazza but if one plays in all Premier League games and the other plays in all CL games then both will be playing in the big games.

Let´s be honest we have a lot of big games to play every season in all competitions.

You only have to look at all the injuries that Cech has picked up this season (albeit fairly minor ones) to see that he is over-stretched and probably playing too many games.

Also we rotate in every single other area of the team so why not in goal as well ?

Also if we reached a scenario where Cech became our number 2 goalie then I think he could live with that if he was still given sufficient gametime.

Ceceh past his peak. if we sold him for as little as 15 million, Gourlay and co desere to be hanged, drawn and quartered

don't want to lose Cech, but i agree that his injury record is becoming an increasing cause for concern, and i really don't want to see us lose a talent like Courtouis either

Superb the problem is if we have bad cup runs one keeper may end up playing 10-15 games compared to the other playing 38.

----------------------------------------------------------

Gazza things would have to go spectacularly wrong if we only played 10-15 games in all CL, FA Cup and League Cup games in any one season.

More likely we play on average about 30 cup games per season which would divide up the games nicely with the other keeper playing PL games.

It´s not a perfect scenario as you pointed out but it´s a compromise and my fear is that if we don´t incorporate Courtois sooner rather than later into the Chelsea setup then we might lose him.

That is an average of 20 cup games over that period.

--------------------------------------------

Ok so it´s 20 cup games.

So Courtois could play those 20 cup games per season as well as a few of the easier PL games per season.

Does it really matter how the gametime is divided ? I´m just showing that there are ways to fairly evenly divide gametime between the two keepers.

As Just Shoot is saying we don´t want to lose Courtois as he is potentially going to be one of the best keepers in the world and we don´t want his head getting turned by another club if he thinks he has no future at Chelsea.

Can you imagine how good it would feel knowing that we have Courtois to call upon now that Cech is injured or vica-versa ?

Once again we have the prospect of playing a Championship standard keeper in the nets for our next game.

Stupid to talk about getting rid of Cech - that's not going to happen. But it is fair to question why we haven't managed to find a decent backup keeper. The bid for Butland was a last minute effort to try to rectify a glaring error - but when that failed we didn't seem to have a plan B. We all have other jobs, but it is clear to everyone even from a distance that neither Turnbull nor Hilario are good enough. Why did Emanelo wait until 2 days before the end of the transfer window to try to find a keeper? What is his job? Who is running the club? It is really being poorly managed right now - and I'm not talking about Benitez. The decision-making behind the scenes has been really poor - Abramovich seems to be putting his trust in the wrong people. Those are the people he should be replacing.

That would be the 3rd most expensive fee ever for a 'keeper, Cech would probably only be valued at under £20million.

1. Or he could never get injured again, what's your point?

2. Do we need the money?

3. Trade in a prove PL goalkeeper for the unknown?

4. 30 is like 25 for goalkeepers, he's just coming into his own. Van der Saar just kept getting better and better.
