Im not 100% sure I disagree with him to be honest.

I want to cause he is a muppet, but I think they are valid points.

They're not valid point. What's the point of a product that your customers don't want ?

How many business models are based on ignoring their customers ?

Ffs he can spin I how he likes. The only person he is convincing is himself

They keep saying that if we go to a bigger league then clubs will die.

If we don't go to a bigger league then clubs will die, but instead of a quick death it'll be a long, lingering death that will be impossible to turn around.

I have no doubt that some clubs will be in big trouble if we go to a 16/18 league but that's the price we have to pay to get a product that is worth watching. And I don't mean to an international audience - I mean for us as the paying supporters.

Really is it that big a deal if its 14 teams or 12 teams???

Once rangers get back it will only be about 2 teams !! unless some other team steps up to the plate soon

The problem with comparing football to other businesses and fans to "consumers" is that rational thinking and reasoning go out the window.

I mean I know a guy who goes to every ayr united game, home and away. Reasoning would suggest that this cant really be enjoyable. But he still goes.

I don't think you can equate fans with customers. You can't shop around to find a better deal.

And they know this. They don't really give a damn about the fans as they know they will always be there, whatever they say about boycotts etc.

I agree with you Esc, but in fairness to Doncaster all 12 SPL clubs have unanimously agreed with the reconstruction proposal too, which suggests sticking with 12 teams will be better financially for them.

I don't agree with most things Charlie Green says, but the 14-14-14 is certainly what I favour, but it looks like this daft 12-12-18 idea is going to be confirmed shortly.

Feckin hunners!

I was laughing at the weekend. I had to hire a van, to take a load of stuff to the dump.

In the past ive always went to Boulevard Rental, and every time they give me a van that is absolutely hopeless.

Last time, the van didnt have a hand brake and the tires were bald. Was my 3rd time of hiring from them. After each time I swear that ill never use them ever again.

What did I do on Saturday? Phoned up Boulevard and hired from them again. This time the van didnt have a 3rd gear and it didnt lock, so spent the whole night convinced that it was a conspiracy and they were going to come down in the middle of the night and steal it, then bill me! Swore again that next time ill hire from Arnold Clark.

I wont though, ill hire another clapped out death trap and spend the next few days moaning.

Why? Cause its handy to get to them, they are cheap and they let you keep the van overnight rather than return it at 5pm.

Sometimes even when you hate something, you end up sticking with them.

Nail on the head!

We as fans will ALWAYS turn out to watch our teams. Through the highest highs and the lowest lows. But if Tesco started selling only out of date stuff, I would go to Morrisons. I won't just go to Parkhead every other week because the football at Ibrox is past its sell-by date. I'll keep gobbling it up coz I'm a fvckin mug like the rest of you!

we dont have enough good teams to make our top league bigger quite frankly.

"listen to the fans"

well the same fans wanted rangers out and still dont go to games, dont see how adding a few teams will change that

But you hit the nail on the head with "it's cheap" it might be a shiiiiiiite product but its a CHEAP shiiiite product

The SPL is a shiiiiiiite overpriced product. And no amount of chair shuffling will alter that .

To get customers back they need rh correct product at the correct price OR a shiiiite produce at a cheap price

Disagree. Of course fans wont change allegianges but At some point a certain % of fans will just decide to stop going because it's a waste of money and will opt to watch it in the box . Lots of empty seats on display this season

at the correct price

this right here, is the factor.

its a gamble, teams need to charge high to get money in the door but at the same time cant get people through the door because of it.

lowering their prices is a huge risk for some clubs, its a terrible cycle tbh

Not really Keny economics of scale will show that you're better to have a full stadium at half-price than a half-full stadium at full price

.. Simply because you make extra cash from program sales, refreshments, food etc from the full stadium

esc

its a field of dreams "if you build it they will come" scenario.

still need them through the door though, and unless teams are pushing to the top their fans arent interested half the time.

PB

i agree, i dont see the benefit of adding partick thistle and morton to our current setup and it making a vast improvement.

Even with cheaper prices, would most SPL clubs still fill their ground? Even the likes of St.Mirren, they couldn't get a fullhouse for the 1st ever game in their 8,000 stadium a few years ago. The fans just aren't there.

The prices are terrible though, £24 to watch Ross County v Dundee or St.Johnstone v Kilmarnock? No games of these ilk should be more than £17.

thats the risk though.

hate the "family final" when fans come crawling out the woodwork who never go to games

the juve ticket line sickened me as well tbh.
