right about the ref, feared the worst when he blew up for a foul throw.
It's a blip. Two weeks without a match hasn't helped us and to be fair, I wouldn't call us dominant at home
C'mon Donny, get a grip, we want an all Yorkshire Championship next season .................. if we stay up !! Mr Sainders might exchange divisions with you !!
OI have just watched the highlights and I know that,s what they are, but our attack looked to be good. We produced a good number of chances which, with a bit better execution would have produced another two or even three goals. Where we looked poor was the back four and Brian Flynn MUST address that before we play MK Dons on Tuesday.
Lanza, the ref was probably up there with the worst i have seen for years.
NY - you are quite right about the chances.
To be honest if McCombe and Paynter had got anything like a connection to the Cotterill crosses then the keeper wouldnt have had a chance of saving them.
I hope that Mr Chairman has not ruined a good centre half making him coach. Before you jump down my throat, I am just airing my concerns. The last two games and Jones has made two defensive mistakes resulting in two goals. Is it that he is just taking his eye off things being more concerned what his teamates are doing ?
We have also conceeded two goals from crosses, very rare (except if they are in the vacinity of Gary "the Vampire" Woods) which one was.
I hope these are just glitches while Rob Jones adjusts to his new roll. The test will come on Tuesday night. Lets get back to winning ways.
I agree - release Jones from the shackles put on him, bring in a coach or use the ass manager to sort it out. Jones is in charge I am told of set pieces, well it ain't working is it so let him play his game.. All this hype set up by the owner or one of them, who now has set up his latest scam of fans involvement in the design of the new shirt....Just say red and white because that is all you will get.
Stop the rubbish "We are the best team in the league" we are not there are two better ones this last week. Get on with the business in hand and if the club want promotion which I still have doubts about.. Because Flynn is the scape goat if we do not get top two, because it will be stated that he was given all the money he needs to strengthen but chose not to... There are far too many backwards and forwards statements. A Messgae to the OWNERS "Shut up with the cra**.........Players just do what you need to do to get that medal then sit back and wait and see...You ghet now't for being second......Tranmere are on the look out and all the clubs around us have been in the market... Yep we got two as I have said before....A frank and straight forward question "When you are manager of a team in the top two, sign two players, why do you leave the next day??" Something ain't right at Donny - still.
Say what you want... This is my opinnion and I will not change it.
whats happened to our Sheltie..........cant be injured surely.
he is better than Mcoombe.
Pegdog:
You are being very hard on Gary Woods with your above comment.
The header that we conceded at Bury was unsaveable, brought about by the striker getting in front of Jones.
When Walsall set up to take the free kick for the first goal we noticed that Jones was marking "space" rather than a player and commented on it just before the kick was taken.
It wasnt Gary Woods ball to clear, the fault was with the defenders.
ionly - youknew i would have to say something after your rant didnt you.
Jones makes two mistakes and we concede two goals, it happens.
He has made mistakes in other games and we got away with it.
Nothing has changed just because he has got a coaching role.
Best team in the league?
That is decided over the season, not the last two games.
On your logic we must have been the best team in the league over the previous 7 games or so when we didnt lose.
We are second in the league because of the results over 30 games and are there because we have been better than everyone except tranmere over those 30 games.
Lets hope we are still in the top two after 46 games.
"you get nowt for being second"?
Well you do in this game, you get promotion.
Flynn wont bring in a player just to appease the fans, he will wait until the right player is available and then sign him.
Just calm down and accept that we wont have things our own way every week.
It is a long hard road and all the teams that are around us will be having the same problems.
It really makes me laugh how quickly fans can turn on people.
FFS, a couple of weeks ago Flynn and Jones were the best thing since sliced bread.
Now, two bad results later they are the scapegoats already.
Hound sorry you once again read in between the lines. It was the corner that Woods was flat footed (again) and flapped at when it was going over his head, for the second goal, that was what I was on about. Watch the replay even Rob Jones gives him a look of dissapproval. The first was Jones fault. !!!!!
It appears I have stirred something up again...... Now Hound yes I knew that you would BUT we are second in the league, we have lost two on the bounce and conceded is it three from set pieces have resulted in these defeats.
You know also from our days - I do NOT accept defeat easily and nothing will ever change that.
Just let him (Jones) play the game he has all season without the extra stress please.. You know them at the club.... They accept you... Me they don't but there again "No body cares"
Pegdog, i saw Joe Hart let a soft goal in the other week and also one when he was playing for England.
Give Woods a break, he is a rapidly improving keeper and this season is miles better than he was last season.
Hound I think Woods could become a good keeper, and to do that you must accept constructive criticism. He is flat footed and is very weak on balls crossed into and around the six yard box. This can be worked on and the goalkeeping coach must take this onboard. All keepers make mistakes, but do not confuse a mistake with a weakness.
I doubt if Gary woods is head and shoulders better than Joe Hart
hound you are right,Woods has improved so much this season. The amount of goals we conceed from set plays/corners is frightening, escpecially headers.Great save low down on Saturday.
nookie - that is a really funny comment and certainly not lost on me.
