A line in GFH statement

I thought it was said that the club was a lot worst off when they took over then anybody could imagine?..

And the guy that didn't have enough to take us forward is still there!..

He didn't have enough, and they've spent what they've promised sorting out what he couldn't!..

Got enough now though hasn't he?.

LUFC, bates always had enough, he was just never going to spend any of it on Leeds.

I may be in a minority here but i think this is positive. We all kind of new that GFH didn't have the necessary but the fact that they are open and admit it is a step forward. They have unravelled the BS from KB and that makes it an easy investment vehicle for a wealthy individual or consorium/a to invest relatively painlessly. They have identified a potential goldmine and will punt it to wealthy groups who cannot be rsed with sifting through the accounts of KB but want the kudos of being part of a major PL success story. Shrewd if you ask me.

I'm not sure a lot of fans did, I think there was a belief that we'd be next Man City.

At the moment it's fingers crossed for the future regarding GFH.

"Although we continue to seek strategic investors, we will only bring on board those who we feel can make a positive contribution to the sustainable success of Leeds United."

Didn't Bates say something similar in respect of other bids before GFH took over ?

"On top of producing the best results on the pitch, it is our aim to expand and strengthen the Leeds United brand both here in Leeds and across the globe with the thousands of fans that follow the club from abroad."

They have made a statement of intent. They have turned down an offer that would have made them minor shareholders.

Some good stuff - they have addressed a lot if questions and we now all know they are not only in it for profit but also to grow the brand that is LUFC. That will make them even more profit of course

Call me crazy, but I take from this statement of intent,
intent. Intent to try and make a go of it rather than
flip us. Like I said, call me crazy.

The thing is that getting investors on board is nothing like begging to borrow funds.

Anyone who invests will reap the rewards if we get back in the Prem.

That's what their ultimate goal has to be if they want to make money.

Now - if they can't afford to fund the club short term then we have a problem...... but they have put £millions up to buy us so surely would not risk losing that?

They have made plenty of statements of intent.

I think you were getting excited because they promised not to spend money and then they didn't spend money and you were saying they were as good as their word!

To get Leeds to Prem will take a lot of money. GFH clearly don't have that at present and from their statement are patching up a financially sinking ship.

With season ticket income for this summer already sold, it will be interesting to see where the money comes from to do anything tangible at Leeds.

It will defo be yet another rollercoaster summer, Jonty.
Will it ever stabilize? Doubt it. And so is our club.

batty, my fear is that cashless owners dont have funds to do job properly, club deteriorates and eventually gets sold on etc....thats exactly how we ended up in Bates hands.

It really isn't a million miles from Pompey situation if we're not careful.

If we go out of FA Cup v man city then there is very little to excited about on pitch and GFH could be in for bumpy ride during fans forum which they should have held before transfer window closed.

It's thought that Pearson offered to buy a controlling interest but they have not accepted the offer.

Note the wording. They have not rejected the offer only 'not accepted' it.

Negotiations are probably still going on.

I expect some form of investment to come into the club soon and that will enable the club to move on in the summer.

I think GFH have done a great bit of business and will have a host of investors looking to invest in one of the most under valued clubs in Europe. Good luck to them.

There seems to be a whole lot of scaremongering going on tonight.

Par for the course, I suppose.

I think Pearson started this with his comments last week. Not scaremongering but speculation and GFH have come out and said they have not accepted an offer - so it must have substance.

I think that Pearson made the statement to make fans aware that all is noy rosy with the finances of our new owners and it would,nt surprise me if this means we will have new owners in a very short time,.Its obvious that no one wanted to deal with Bates

Leeds61, correct, I do now know for a fact that GFH bought the club to sell on, and there are 2 front runners to buy the club, Pearson and another... GFH are finding the right price, they saw a good opotunity to buy Leeds from Bates, as nobody esle would deal with him.... now the buyers are back in line as they will be dealing with GFH, a banking firm....

people think GFH have no money to invest, well correct, they won;t heavily invest in something they KNOW they won't own come next summer.

Pearson will own LUFC in the summer IMO
