Then again I reckon Boreham Wood would beat us if we went to their place.

Yeah I agree, it's funny because we've actually made decisions to try and please the fans and not be a selling club but it's backfired so badly... rejecting 60m from City for Sanchez and then swapping him for Mkhi 6 months later, signing Ozil instead of letting him leave for free. If we'd done the opposite the fans would have been raging through and difficult to say how it would have worked out. If we'd sold Sanchez to City we would have paid 100m for Lemar who's flopped at Atletico

As long as we had stayed in the Champions League what would have been the complaint? We are never going to win it without investing big?

Was it a desperate attempt to save their jobs because Wenger could see the crowd turning against him or was it that Arsene did not have the energy to build another team from scratch? After all we were winning trophies again, albeit the FA Cup.

Oh, maybe we can compete with the Bayerns of the world after all...

I understand that we had to move to The Emirates, but man, it really doesn't feel like it's been worth it.

FA Cups and Europa Leagues are second-tier trophies. That isn't why we were sold the reason of moving. We were meant to compete for league titles and Champions Leagues in this new stadium. It's just simply not happened for us at all. Granted, some external things happened that did set us back somewhat, but still. We've had the resources to compete for the last 5 years, yet we haven't.

How long until we actually have a competitive side that can compete on all fronts? How much longer are we going to have to wait?

Also, how much would it cost us to terminate Ozil's contract? Does anyone know?

Crucial statement that. We are slowly starting again with a corporate structure, we haven't had since 2008.

Laca could maybe pull that look off. Kolasinac though?

Exclusive interview with Liverpool owner John W Henry on all Sky Sports News platforms now. Says winning Champions League won’t make up for missing out on the title. Liverpool will go again and invest this summer to make sure they win Premier League next season

We should try to negotiate paying Ozil's deal over a longer term to tempt him out. Say maybe 10-15 years.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Be fair to Xhaka, at least he came out with a statement knowing full well the abuse he'd get directed his way

I'm probably his biggest fan on here (which isn't saying much considering) and we were 2 horrible second halves away from it being a successful season in most people's eyes

Hey so did any of you bother with the AFTV posted vid on the Arsenal board yesterday?

That lad DT reckoned the players were all about to walk off after collecting their medals without even acknowledging the fans, until Xhaka stepped in.

Facking unbelievable if true.

It's been a season with loads of learnings for everyone as a collective. The result was one which hurt us all. We'll continue to work hard and get the club back to where it belongs. Thank you again for all the support this season.

Ps, so proud of you my brother

Wouldnt be surprised

Xhaka stepping in and the statement he came out with is a bit of a smoking gun on who will be on field captain next season. At the very least he has put his hat in the ring

posted on 31/5/19

Bellers probably also proud that AMN won't be replacing him as first choice any time soon

posted on 31/5/19

I am absolute sure Xhaka will be captain next season as he was in Gladbach.

Bellerin is a honest lad. Think he means it and I would be happy if we bring in a RB this summer to give him time to get back and overall real competition.

The fact that people at the club still think Xhaka is good enough to be part of our future is extremely concerning.

We need to look at a bigger picture, Samir and stop scapegoating on players when the team bottle a big opportunity.
