Worth to mention....another clean sheet with Mustafi in the team.

Torreira looked very good in the holding midfield position. Even Guen looked a step below after his sub and Emery pushed Torreira further up the pitch.

Really hope that Emery makes the right conclusion for Sunday's game. Midfield line-up will be key.

I'm surprised that afer 18 months, you still have those kind of hope.

Going by his time at PSG, I'd say at least 2 seasons
tbf Emery had a lot of interference from senior management at PSG.
This could be a turning point at Arsenal. We have so many young hungry players in that team and in our reserve team to put pressure all over the etablished players. Reminds me of the Dortmund era when Klopp came to Dortmund and found an amazing young bunch of talents there pushing into their first team.
It's all about Emery to see that and make the right decisions. It's all there.
Yesterday Mustafi was the only player over 24 years I read on my TL on twitter.
You can thank Sanllehi for that gt. Thats one very obvious change from the previous regime and something he brings from Barca.

I wanted to give him benefit of the doubt last season, but I think the last 6 games of 2018/2019 and the Europa League final began to turn me against him.
Then he was heavily backed in the Summer, so I thought to myself 'surely he has no excuse to be as bad as last year'. Turns out I was wrong. He's got better players, but is still making bad mistakes. Bizarre substitutions, gameplans, incoherent style of play, no defensive improvement, sterile in midfield and strange expectations in terms of rearranging players' roles (i.e. Torreira playing as a DM to a B2B or AM). He wants all our players to be robust workhorses.
I'm glad he is giving youth a chance, but I'd argue the acceleration of their improvement is a result of Freddie and co. than Emery.

Because you think if results don't start to come our way, he won't have interference here?
Raul and Edu will quickly get involved if things don't change with the senior team.
They have been producing for a while. Note: Gnabry and Malen doing great at other clubs.
And I count Gnabry, Reine-Adelaide, Malen to the successful work of our youth system. All players made it here and looked to have a fine career ahead.
By the way, here's a question for everyone - do you believe that players should adapt to what the coach wants or should coaches adapt to the strengths of their players?
I can't wait on the Liverpool game in the League Cup.

Its a bit of both. Good players adapt and others leave. If the coach requires 11 new players then you know he isn't a good coach.

he'll get sacked. up to now raul has been backing emery with the type of players he wants. even brought in edu to better fill that link between emery and his own desire to rely more on skill players, usually found in south america, rather than automatons from germany.

my point is that they now get a chance to progress to the first team rather than being moved on like in the past. just like when dein was around.
