It doesnt really matter who made a mistake.

We let them have too many set pieces in the first half.

It was only a matter of time when we concede from one of them. Why we played from the backfoot from the first minute and invited them is a mystery to me.

OK I accept that could have been the plan if they were in a zonal system. However it doesn't explain why he didn't then run out with the rest instead of playing Moussa onside if he wasn't marking him.

Mousset was at worst level with the Sheff United player who played the header and behind Luiz and Guendouzi, he couldn't have been offside.

Not from the angles shown. He was ahead of them almost on the goalkeeper. Evra did an analysis at half time where he showed Moussa standing on top Leno and blocking him. Think he said fergie would have never allowed that blocking of the keeper. He was definitely ahead of them and didn't take a step back at the point of the header. With VAR these days you don't clear daylight and Xhaka was in no mans land. He should have stepped out if he wasn't told to pick up the man.

Ok i will need to see it again. Because from recollection it looked as if he was played onside by xhaka.

Trying to play offside from a corner when the delivery is into the six yard box would be a worse crime.
