Seen AFC players have agreed a paycut of around 12.5% over the next year.

What about the board then? Or don't they feel part of the highly paid?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The board took 30% cuts ages ago.

They took a 33% cut before the players. The entire exec team. Sort of shamed the players into a deal.

Interesting. Who do you think is holding out?

So if we sign anyone this summer, do they agree a wage then take 12.5% cut straight away?
What about the likes of Saka, does his agree a new contract but still take a 12.5% cut?

I'd think they would give all the younger players they want to keep new contracts and adjust it in the signing on bonus.

Its the big wage earners who could take the club down.

My guess the two would be ones negotiating new contracts.

Very much doubt it is Auba.

Someone with a very influential agent IMO.

I think it maybe Ozil and the like. Those who are leaving without any chance of getting wages we have been giving them and no hope to sign a new contract.

Auba is going to get a new contract at Arsenal or elsewhere. So he is not really going to lose out in the longer term and it makes him look good if he agrees. Will obviously impact who will go after him in Spain where its not the right thing to hold out at the moment.

Not sure abt that. Arsenal are only now forming those relationships so why would any agent want to put into jeopardy their future dealings with Arsenal?

Özil doing a lot of charity. Really doubt he is one of the two players.

posted on 20/4/20

I am sure he does gt. But 12.5% is c£3m. And what does Ozil have to lose by holding out?

Any player who leaves will get the money back, so it is unlikely to be a player with intention of leaving.

Because agents were among those who recommended theirs players to refuse the paycut. I'm not sure but it might to some extend also influence their revenues. Bearing in mind, we might heading towards the worst transfer windows in terms of spending, so they might want to hold onto what they already have.

Seen a dece craft beer company in Berlin are now doing takeaway pints

Hope London can do something similar in a month or so
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Takeaway pints? Lots of nice craft ales selling local supermarkets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Colleague of mine has his own brewery. Just got a box (bottles) delivered to mine on Saturday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there a huge difference? I am not much of a beer man but I am enjoying Pistonhead full amber at the mo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Enjoying it more than Amber is?

yeah I understand where you are coming from. Just that it going to bad everywhere. My shares in BP have collapsed by 40% because driving is down everywhere in the world. So I doubt the oil/gas billionaires are going to be spending. I think most agents would be thinking longer term.

Wasn't it for those who were leaving with a fee? So it could be adjusted? FFP will be a killer for every top club.
