Why do discussions about the EU & Brexit between CEG and J99 always end up getting personal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because he has a boner for this kind of jousting
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because CEG isn't top of that facts and hates anything that is not confirmed in the Guardian first.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do love the guardian

I'm not in top of the facts no but let's be honest you haven't really exposed anything and I'm comfortable with my knowledge on the subject and my opinion based upon it
----------------------------------------------------------------------

ECJ's argument with German's supreme court is a very big deal. Its not only because it affects them politically at a time the country is in recession. But because its affects the funding of the EU where access to London has become vital to all. For years countries have used the Germans as their personal piggy bank. Germany is now in recession.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup we are in recession. So are the whole world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So you understand that in a recession you cannot be intransigent to a deal? And the biggest obstruction to a deal has always been different requirements by different countries that make up the EU?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not Germany blocking the deal man πŸ˜‚
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Correct they want a deal. And now Germany wield a much bigger stick to whack those who are blocking over the head to agree.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
πŸ‘ yup we prefer a deal but we arent desperate and Merkel gave up long time ago to get one under a Johnson goverment.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn't know you were in Merkel's cabinet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I can read and understand what Merkel said.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah show me the quote where she has given up on a deal with the UK.

We lost 3-2 to Brentford in case anyone’s interested. Lacazette and Willock the apparent scorers for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arteta out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I completely forgot Arteta was your manager for a minute there

Yeah, Holding has been absolutely terrible since his injury against United in December 2018. Beginning to think this is last chance saloon for him.

Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, David Luiz and Guendouzi also at fault for sloppiness or laziness leading to goals.

Really hope it's because they weren't taking the game that seriously, but man, it doesn't give me any confidence at all we'll get a result at City.

They were trying to play it out from the back and got caught... Don't see Arteta changing tactics on the back of it but maybe needs to give AMN and Luiz a bit of a head wobble

Erm you meant Lacazette

Lacazette too, but the positioning of all the other aforementioned players was terrible. Holding in particular looks nowhere near ready, which is a huge concern considering how long he's been back for.

That's promising from Bellerin. Good dynamic.

David Luiz will remain David Luiz. This is not new.
He has had those moments during both spell at Chelsea and at PSG.
I'd really not be bothered if we don't extend his contract.

All 3 goals though came from players making mistakes in midfield giving the ball away. Can't really blame defenders apart from Bellerin who gave too much space to the attacker for the first equaliser.

Did you actually see the first goal? It was Luiz who cheaply gave tha ball away

posted on 11/6/20

Yes but he did far up the pitch. There was plenty of time to defend the ball by the rest of the team before the move developed. Bellerin should have been far tighter when the ball got into the dangerous area. We are still too loose in midfield and the defenders need to be tighter. Its funny how teams still press against us eventhough we have a lot of pace up front. No one respects the midfield's ability to play the long ball.

Let me get this straight. So a defender adventure himself in the midfield, leaving consequently space at the back. Lose the ball by trying to be too clever (he had plenty of options to pass the ball) and then casually jog back while we are being attacked but it the fault if the midfielders?

posted on 11/6/20

The attack came on the right. Luiz was back in position by the time they scored. Our problems are in transitions from defence to attack. The midfield is the problem. Kolo used to do what Luiz did all the time, often losing the ball. But in those days we had Gilerto and Vieira ready to win the ball back. That just doesn't happen anymore. The tackle should be coming seconds after anyone loses the ball.

The second goal came from Lacazette dropping too deep and giving the ball away. And the third I think AMN giving the ball away in midfield.

Fair enough.

Yeah its really annoying. I've gone from constantly blaming ppl giving the ball away to realising that at least they are trying to play the ball forward, so its going to happen. We are so slow and so indirect going forward. Teams don't respect us playing the ball forward at all which is why they press us continuously. No respect for being counter attacked.

But that still doesn't excuse the other part of the game. What they are supposed to be doing when we lose possession. So scared of tackling cause they are slower than opposing attackers.

Its why we need to buy Partey so desperately. Partey/Torreira may actually work.

Xhaka is part of the problem. Never said he is the whole problem. He is picked out because he is so personifies that attitude.
