No much, if not nothing at all is created through the middle and we are too predictable. This only work against teams with poor fullbacks where Saka and Pepe can made a difference. But against a well organised side with decent players, we will keep struggling.

We can't give him away. Just like Elneny and plenty of others. We only managed to get roma to pay Mkhi's £12m in wages for his last season.

The issue is the same with formation Lex.
I was talking gt slowly through my problem with Xhaka's positioning. He only did his role properly against Norwich. Otherwise he has been missing.
People kept on saying in the match thread that all our play was coming on Pepe's side. It was similar case against Leicester with Saka playing ahead of Ceballos.
Xhaka does not know what he is supposed to do.
Drop the back 3! Put Torreira alongside Xhaka to provide an extra man to the CBs and push Ceballos forward. Him or whichever player that can create decent chances. Attacking ONLY from the flanks makes us too predictable and unfortunately too easy to neutralise as yesterday showed

Thats the formation we played before the lockdown.
The problem is that most teams play with a holding player and that player sits where Ceballos/Ozil would play. They just follow them around and you need either Xhaka or Torreira to create. But you also then need them to sweep in front of the defence. Neither have the stamina or power or pace to cover up and down the pitch.
I think 3-5-2 works with players we have. We just need Xhaka to take more responsibility and push closer to the strikers. He has a good shot and I just wonder why we doesn't attack more.
