That team would take our current one to the cleaners, go for a coffee, probably have a sandwich with it, quick stroll afterwards, then pick the current freshly laundered squad up from the cleaners, drive it back to the Emirates, and kick it out the window into a great big muddy puddle.

Here's another one... Arsenal are such a microcosm for how much the world has changed in 4 years

2012 would've been at the height of the Kroenke / Usmanov stand off. Guess we had the trolley-dash transfer coming into view - although we didn't know it at that point, obviously.

The club has never really recovered from that yet. It's why, for me, Stan should be doing more than spunking £70m on some random player every once in a blue moon, as a way of showing KSE's 'commitment' to getting Arsenal up and running again.

Whatever happens in the future, he and his company were a massive part of the reason the club stalled, and has now regressed over the last decade.

For that reason alone he will always owe us.

I am fully with you. I am suprised how we recently agreeing on what needs to happen. You develop to my new soulmate Lex.

It's not that we havent spend money in recent years. We have. But we dont continue to be ruthless when we make mistakes in the TW. Liverpool is a good example that finally you get there when you spend over requirements.

With that Yankee though....I have no hopes we can compete with other clubs for years to come. We develop into a midfield team.

The kid is 19, he has been at St-Etienne since 2016. I don't want to say that his boyhood club but he has certainly some attachment to it.
Him not playing the (only?) final he could have since joined is not right. Both clubs should realise this.
Not putting blame on AFC here but just highlighting how the kid might feel.
Not a great start to the life at your new club.

Yeah but why is he not playing?

That Barca game was in February 2011. Our squad in 2011/2012 was actually pretty poor. We lost Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy. We had Wilshere and Diaby injured all season. We signed Gervinho, Jenkinson, Mertesacker, Santos, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Park Chu-Young, Arteta and Benayoun on loan. We had a good few months where we had all our fullbacks injured.
We managed to still scrape 3rd place though that season. Largely thanks to Van Persie having a great season.

That team is still far more superior to the current trash.

Yup.

And I read about 2,5M.

It's sad for him and Wenger days we probably would have done it just to benefit Saliba

And would have been SLATED for doing so
