Jota is another class act at Liverpool. Well done.

Hearing Norwich have turned down 2 offers from Barcelona for Max Aarons. 1 could’ve been worth £20m + bonuses. 20yo RB agreed terms on deal that‘s been running months. #FCB will now try to sign Sergino Dest from Ajax. Bayer Munich also watching Aarons closely

How come no one else was linked to Jota?
How come Thiago only wanted a move to Liverpool?
How come they both costed so little?

On the left back issue, Cedric is comfortable on the left as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is why I thought it odd us still being linked to this young, expensive, Portuguese lad-back.
But apparently he's destined to become a CB.
Or a target man.
Or a goalkeeper.
Because, y'know... TALL!

No one is linked to Aouar or Partey apart from Arsenal.
Tbf I just don't think many clubs can afford to buy players they might want, let alone then go into bidding wars for them.
Wouldn't be surprised if there were more than a few 'gentlemen's agreements' going on this window between rival clubs.
Jota costing the best part of £45m, ain't exactly cheap

In any other non-covid season he would be going for c£70m.
We will need to beat West Ham by a 2 goal margin to go back to the top of the league.
Raya didn't start for Brentford. 🤔
Second match in a row now, right?

no Tierney is injured. Kola playing CB. Saka ahead of AMN
When you win a game where you thought why wasnt Elneny playing after the first half you know everything you need to know about the game.
Thought we were over it but they battered us completely in midfield. We hardly created anything.
Atrocious, awful.....
Don't think Elneny missing out was a reason for the poor performance, Ceba was arguably our best player.
It was KT and Ains missing that changed the whole dynamic of our team. Neither Kola nor Saka looked like they knew their role.
AMN makes a third midfielder so well, and Tierney has a far better understanding of when to overlap.
If KT is out long term then I think the 3-4-3 looks a lot less efficient system.
I think we had two issues.
a) Nervous goalkeeper. That meant West Ham were able to keep the ball in our half because we could not clear the ball after the initial attack. So lost possession in dangerous areas.
b) DM not able to bring the ball out. Eleneny was instrumental in beating the first press to link to his box-to-box partner. Without that we looked disjointed. If you are going to play Xhaka then has to play in a box-to-box role and not DM.
Its not about Elneny as much as the fact that Xhaka can't play deep.
Our Fa Cup run only worked because Ceballos took on the deep role last season. Xhaka was still further forward. If you think back to the final Chelsea could have 3 or 4 when Xhaka was deeper. Arteta changed it in the first half drinks break to Ceballos playing deeper.
People mustn't forget that despite a 3-0 win we played pretty poorly against Fulham as well. They were just bigger pushovers than the hammers.
