The refs have their favourites too.
The VAR refs get an automatic out because their face won't be shown on match of the day.
Still struggling to figure out how Pepe missed that tap in. Didn't even bobble off the pitch. Pepe Madness indeed
Looking at the player rather than the ball.
It was the right sub to bring him on, you just can't legislate for that miss
tbh Pepe did very well apart from that. His volley was quiet a great skill. Should have started rather than Willian.

Agree with all of that
Just seen the Burnley goal and the Pieters non handball. What the hell
I wish I was surprised. Xhaka is like Mustafi - no matter how well he plays you know he's going to do something like this or a stupid red card to cost you a game eventually. He just needs to go.
Likewise with the reffing, not surprised at all. Others have had bad luck too, so it's just all round poor standard but we do seem to have had it amongst the worst. I don't understand how they can possibly justify not giving that unless I missed something not watching it real time

Apart from his Gervinho moment he was causing havoc again when he came on. Said before the game that Willian starting over him was outrageous
Dunno how Willian played but when I saw Willian got the start over him I thought it was really unfair and probably really demoralizing for Pepe
Don’t even care about the non pen. We had so many chances to win the comfortably. Only ourselves to blame
Cant believe we dropped points against Burnley again. Really wish this season was over.
Prob would have missed the pen anyway. One of those days
They were claiming that the player was in close proximity. But thats nonsense because the ball was not hit at 100 miles an hour from a yard away. It bounced unexpectedly and Peters made his body bigger with his arms out wide. Its the text book definition of the new rule. Just Kevin Friend trying to over think it. The ref body will now try to justify it rather than admitting a mistake and dig a bigger hole for all the refs. Doesn't happen in other leagues.
The proximity thing is bolllocks
His arm was in an unnatural position and he leant into the ball. At the time I knew it wouldn’t be given though
I know it's our own fault we havent won the game but look at this again and dont tell me there hasnt been an agenda

Wonder if we are going to score a winning goal in the last 20 minutes of a league game this season, only done that once against West Ham back in September.
It gets to the stage now as soon as it hits the 70 minute mark and we are losing or drawing a league game we know the result will stay that way!
The ball hit his arm and then he fingered it.
You can’t say it’s an agenda this time because the ref gave a pen and red card in our favor a few mins later. It’s just really poor officiating
Auba should have scored in stoppage time too. I know it was a great block but he should have just aimed to the right and it goes in. No composure in a big moment

That's probably why he gave it. Clearly not a pen
When I said there is an agenda I dont meant the game today alone. So many dodgy decisions that went against us. Dont tell me that is all by coincidence.
Read recently that no ref in the League support Arsenal.
So many refs are from the Manchester area it smells of corruption.

Its Arteta trying to justify his waste of a signing on Willian. Combine that with picking Leno over Emi. Frankly I would be asking how much dough this lack of judgement is costing us. And I don't rate Lexington's excuse of a young manager either. Arteta should be able to judge players or we will be back in the end of Wenger era problems of too many useless players on high wages. No way Edu is going to accept Martinelli not developing either.
