If Martinelli doesn’t start then serious questions must be asked

Well ESR and Odegaard both being out pretty much guarantees Willian a start. Hopefully Martinelli gets a chance upfront.

Another match with Chelsea’s Wheelie-bin and Lardarsezette pounding about the pitch would be unbearable.

Unfortunately I think today is just one of those matches where, no matter if it’s a positive result, the manager won’t gain any credit. Whereas a loss or draw will damage him further.

Joel Lopez has struggled for the U23s this season. He obviously has something about him that Bould and Arteta like though - hence him training with the first team.

Starting him in a PL match this season isn’t going to happen though, which leaves our full back options as:

Well that's the idea.

Hard part will be deciphering if auba really is acting like a caaaant, or if I have to go back to using a certain moniker I used for arteta which compared him with a certain German dictator.

Honestly, a lot of people are saying it's attitude problems with auba given his form, but I personally haven't seen any issues with his effort or application.

Hopefully Xhaka will get the armband back - our true captain.
