Yes, so assuming we were lining up with Pepe as CF I thought it was an okay line up, but we didn't hence thinking that he got it wrong in many other ways when I saw our actual shape

But I don't think he was trying to be clever. I think he actually believes it despite our league position.

It's so annoying cos Ceba is still riding the wave of playing well against the worst team in the league, in a game where they were so poor he basically got to play a free position without being needed to help Partey.
Meanwhile other players like Pepe go on a great run of form, then miss a chance one game and find themselves on the bench for a while.

As I've said before. Even IF we get to the final, and we somehow beat Man Utd, we need to replace Arteta.
His squad management, judgements and in-game management is so beyond bad, that I can't believe he's a top flight manager, let alone an Arsenal manager.
I don't care how this season ends, I want him gone no matter what.

We didn't need players back. Our best midfield partnership is Partey and Xhaka. We have 2 different options, perhaps even 3 before we should even consider Xhaka at LB.
But fraudteta can't get his head beyond Xhaka's performance vs Sheff utd and Prague so he's stuck with it. Mediocre tactician.
J99, do you agree with me yet that even if we pull off a miracle and win this tournament that Arteta should be replaced? Because there are no aspects of his management that convince me he's the right man. And frankly we've been a bit fortunate that we've got this far anyway.

Honestly, Villarreal were fking shiiiit. All their chances came from ceballos.

Honestly it would be very hard to fire Arteta if he won the Europa. If you remember I wanted to hold Arteta's feet to the fire even after he won the FA Cup. Because I could not see a style he wanted to play. But thought it fair enough to give him a chance to change to a more attacking style if he could and challenge for the CL. He hasn't done that. His coaches are poor and that makes me fearful for next season.
But how would you fire a man who has won two trophies in his first two seasons? Quite a conundrum.
