I suppose getting money for Xhaka will be a good job. But if he can also get money for Lacazette, sell Guen, sell Bellerin and Leno will be something we can judge him on.

i was expecting a lot of players to leave this summer, and i still am, but i don't think the fees will be as high as i expected them to be - partly due to the high wages some of these players are on, partly due to the level of club interested in these players and partly due to the pandemic still impacting club finances across europe.

Just look at KSE's record at Arsenal, mate.
Kept Wenger on for too long, but didn't even use those additional seasons to put a proper succession plan in place.
Told us all to be excited the summer, before blowing our entire budget on Pepe - so VERY American of them, no?
Came out and backed Emery against the fans - or 'the noise', as they called it - when things started to go really bad, then caved in to the fans almost immediately afterwards - again, without having a plan in place for his successor.
Sold the fanbase (as best they could) on the Arteta project - which, as you've suggested yourself, wasn't even a name they came up with themselves.
They completely bungled pretty much every single thing from a PR perspective since they've arrived.
But now, all of a sudden, you think they're about to play a canny game and gauge whether Arteta can be trusted, before backing him in the transfer market - how they're going to do that now the season is over, I've no idea?
I'm all for wiping slates clean. But if we're affording this for KSE, why not for Edu and Arteta too?
The two of them certainly have less track record for failures than the owners do.
