Arsenal linked with Rodrigo de Paul and Manual Locatelli.

FFS I can already feel the noose around my neck when Aug 31 is over and we've signed Neves and extended Elneny's contract.

We'll end up buying Ceballos from Real so that they can get Locatelli

When things started to no longer work under Wenger, and we began down the path of short-term fixes (Lacazette, Xhaka, Aubameyang) to try to retain our relevance in the scheme of things, once it became clear this approach wasn't working either, someone needed to make the tough decision to rip it up, and start again.

Bin off the big contract players - if we could do it in the midst of a global pandemic, we could've done it then too.

Certainly don't facking extend any (Ozil, Aubameyang).

Stop trying to constantly chase CL qualification by chucking ££££m into signing Pepe and Partey types, instead of constructing a more balanced squad.

Don't even contemplate short term oldies looking for one last payday, in a nice town (Cech, Willian, Lichtsteiner).

And promote more Hale End lads to the squad, filling in the gaps, rather than wasting money on Elneny and, latterly, Cedric types.

I understand this all sounds great in hindsight, but our downward direction of travel started a long time ago now. Plenty of time for someone, ANYONE, of authority at the club to instigate at least one or two of these policies. If they had their eye on the ball. Which of course they don't.

Which is how we let the likes of Raul and Kia rampage through our finances, helping themselves and their clients, whilst damaging the club further. Like stealing sweets from kids, springs to mind.

Of course there will be some Arsenal supporters that would see anyone wanting any of the above to be carried out as a lowering of expectations.

We finished 8th last season. And the season before.

See, Arteta is only a very small part of the problem at Arsenal at this point in time...

Looooool WTF??

Xhaka is so desperate to leave Arsenal that he took a paycut to 50%????

We are horrendously awful in contract negotiations ffs. Can't believe we paid that donkey £100k pw.

Since 2013, Arsenal made over 30 FIRST TEAM signings (excluding free agents) and are yet to make a profit on the sale of a single one of them. The last 2 players Arsenal signed for money and made a profit on was Giroud (signed 2012) and Chamberlain (signed 2011).

Tbh, this was close to the figure most tabloids quoted when they combined basic wage with bonuses/addons and signing on fee. Ridiculous figure, yes, but we knew that.

Partey on £250k is a joke. So is Cedric on £75k pw and not even in the squad, tbh. Most interesting one is Auba.

Cazorla, Ramsey, wilshere, welbeck, ozil, Mustafi, sokratis all went for a combined total of £0.

I was excited by the buendia link, but letting villa get him has crashed me right back down to earth. People saying it's because we want somebody better - good luck with that.

This club has no idea what it's doing.

Does it matter? Maybe that should be our business model. Buying very very cheap and selling for few extra millions. We don't seem to be able to increase players values anyway these days, so I doubt even if we were to sell Partey, Saliba or Pepe that we would make any kind of profit.
