Simple answer. They werent never midtable. They sacked Lampard in the middle of that season. No one knows where they would have end at the end of the season under Lampard. Players were all there.

Not my fault with him tbag. My issue with Ode is that he is not involved enough in the game, he is not very aggressive when he gets on the ball and really doesn't show for the ball with his back to goal. There can be a multitude of mitigations from his supporters but that doesn't detract from the fact that in my opinion he was a really big let down in the Newcastle game. Unlike Pete I don't think this is his peak. I believe he has a lot of talent and potential to grow. But until his attitude changes thats not going to happen. It kinda explains why Madrid gave up on him. I see we are linked with Jovic and I hope its not another case of a player who thought he made it when he moved to Real Madrid and then can't handle the let down moving away to rebuild his career.

Wasn't a dig at you as you've given him credit in the past when playing well & I didn't watch ydays game to pass judgement.

It's mainly people in the match thread, but we seem to have a bunch of fans who just want us to fail so they have reason to moan.

He certainly has potential, he's good on the ball and works hard, he just needs to do more. Time will tell.
