Tbh, I think starting Xhaka sends the wrong message which then sets the tone for the match, He also shouldn't have played the full 90, but there were a few players who needed to be replaced cos of their performances so I kinda get that to an extent.
For better or worse, when Xhaka plays the mood around the fans and the club seems to drop
Worry with somebody like Potter would be on the spending side. Fair play to the Kroenkes, it looks like we will continue to spend decent amount of money.
Not that the return on that has been set very high of course.
Arteta clearly furious with the team in his interview. He really does talk a good game & I love his honesty but at the end of the day, if he can’t get the players playing the way he wants them to play, he has to go.

Get Potter in ffs.
He’s already used to working with shiiite forwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you look at the managers we can realistically get then he’s probably the standout. Think Ten Hag will hold out for a bigger job
We aren't keeping the goals out anymore either. So much for the £150m defence.
Think Arsenal have to wake up that losing is really not a good thing for young players.
Forget to loan out Balogun and bring him in. It cant get any worse.
In fairness, as much as I detest seeing Xhaka... at all, let alone in an Arsenal shirt, my one hope was him playing might illicit a decent performance from Tomas Partey.
But no.
He now has the dreaded shiiite hat trick I mentioned the other day after the United match.
Hold on a sec. When has Partey played well alongside Xhaka?
Partey was worse than Xhaka
Not sure why Lakonga has been completely binned off recently tbh. Had the Liverpool shocker but I've been impressed with him so far and would rather the club invested playing in him over Xhaka & El Neny.
Partey has been our worst midfielder since he signed
Didn't Maitland Niles have 2 motm performances in a row to be never seen again?

Angers me tbh, with last season's transfer saga. Just let the guy go and play if we have no plans for him.

Tbh he was better in the first half than Partey, he just had a horrible 10 mins at the start of the second and was rightly hooked.
Elneny playing over him or AMN (coming off a MoTM performance) made absolutely no sense last week and I don't think starting Xhaka tonight over either of them was a smart move either.

The only reason for Arteta's weird midfield selections I can come up with kinda reflects his post match interview. The players are not following his instructions and he is trying for experience over coaching. It would sum up Arteta's management.
Don’t get the use of Nketiah at all.
Guy is leaving, whether Arteta likes it or not.
Desperate times if we’re now merely playing him to boost whatever compensation might be awarded us when he signs for someone else.
Apparently that isn’t even a thing if he goes abroad?
Madness.
Agreed. I've tried not to slate Xhaka tonight, as he's returning from injury, but his lack of energy and ability to cover the pitch is not something I enjoy watching, nor is it something I can ever see being part of a successful Premier League side. Lokonga at the very least offers us a presence in midfield, the ability to cover ground and, when a mistake does happen, a better chance of repositioning. When Xhaka gets beat, the pitch is open and there's no chance of recovery.
Eddie has scored so in Arteta's mind that gets you selected ahead of actual coaching.

Just imagine how much credit Arteta would’ve got had Ainsley gone on to cement a deserved starting role for us since then.
Bewildering.

Played him LW as well FFS. Pepe is clearly done and will most likely pick up a wage for the remainder of his contract like Ozil did.
Yeah one thing Sambi did well in that first half was help out the LB when he got doubled up on, we know he has the mobility to do this and same with AMN, so I'm not sure why Xhaka warrants coming straight back into the side and playing 90

I always thought Arteta's talk of Wenger was a cry for help and nothing has changed my mind since. I think he realises the job is bigger than he can handle especially with another 2 top managers coming into the league more than likely to finish higher than us.
