Xhaka this, Xhaka that. Partey is much worse and if we are all honest get a free path because we havent got someone else.

Right now Partey is probably playing as poorly as Xhaka has been for his entire Arsenal career (bar one decent game per year).

Difference is that he's only played under Arteta who is clearly not a good manager

Nobody is playing particularly well, i keep hearing our defence is now solid. How many have we conceded recently!?

The whole system is a shambles. Yes Arteta stumbled on some decent form when he played Laca behind Auba, was never going to work long term.

He needs to go. Get in Ten Haag, Potter or Rodgers.

Yeah our defence has been average at best this season tactically, Ramsdale has often bailed is out

XG stats are pretty cringeworthy but currently we're 5th for expected goals against

Even our mediocre current league position flatters us

I don't even know what XG stats actually mean.

We have exactly the same GD as per last season after 15 games.
However, we conceded 19 goals last season vs 22 this season.

It's pretty silly but I guess it might indicate if strikers and goalkeepers (in particular) are performing particularly well or poorly

Yeh, I don't care about those stats tbh.

We don't create nearly enough chances, hence lack og goals. We are unable to attack efficiently.

Getting 0 points from Liverpool away, Man U away and Everton away is a disgrace. We needed a bare minimum of 4 points from those games.

posted on 7/12/21

It’s not really a disgrace as our records there aren’t great and of course we played all 3 matches under the lights conveniently but it’s the manner of the defeats that are a disgrace. The manner of a lot of our victories are disgraceful too.

This.

I can accept losing if we are creating lots of chances, going for the win etc etc. Sick if sitting back, dreadful football to watch.

We dont create enough...that's right but also we arent clinical at all especially in away games where the team usually get less chances. That's said we havent got a striker that runs against defender and winning these kind of duels. Not in the middle and not on the flanks. We are easy to defend. Our strikers struggle to control the ball that eventually coming in with their first touch. Our passing from our midfield is sloppy and pedestrian and lack accurancy. Terrible.

We have a negative goal difference. With that you can't expect to get a CL place and neither an EL place.

Bottom line is the football under Arteta has been awful to watch.

Far worse than Emery or even during Freddie short stint.

How Arteta is still in a job is facking ridiculous in itself

And we sacked him. So if going with your theory that sacking manager doesn't solve this issue, why did we sacked Emery?

The thing is our season is salvageable at this point. We are not that far of the top 4 and the unbeaten run shows we do have players capable of doing the business if managed properly.

Emery's team was in deep fall. Yes we were like that under Arteta as well. But Arteta obviously could put through that it will take time and money to repair the team.

And I haven't said that a new manager wouldnt do better. I said that the players staying no matter who comes in. Or do you think that Auba would score every single chance he get under a new manager out of a sudden?

He would get a lot more chances to miss than he’s getting atm

I've shown you yesterday on this same thread, Auba's output since Arteta took charge. So based on those stats alone, I'd say he'll score more goals under the right manager/tactics.

Answer is I can't.

I am not a big fan of changing the manager every year and hoping for a miracle. If Arteta gets the sack in the morning I would cry at all. But I dont believe in miracles.
