I hope to see more "Asian" kids playing soon and on the terraces at the Albion.
I don't believe for one instant there is a racism issue. For goodness sake we have all nationalities now in British football.
Plainly it cannot be true that there is an issue of ability with so many Sub continent players amongst cricket's finest.
Yes, I'll be happy to see Asian players in also but only when they're good enough like other races had to be, not just because they're Asian.

Using data to justify an argument
I've given you clear examples but you like to hide behind data.
PS - it was not Clarke Carlise opinion. He actually went out and researched and spoke to Asian lad's and managers which is something you have zero knowledge off
---------------------------------
He obviously didn't research as the percentage of 7.8 against 3600 is 280 and considering it's a much lower percentage than 85%, there's gonna be much much less good enough to make it and thus simple data shows that it cannot be blamed. People like to shout racism, you have done it, Clarke Carlisle has done it regularly, however the evidence suggests otherwise. If you're good enough, you'll make it, like the Asians who have, if you're not, you won't like the Asians and the milions upon millions of white's who haven't.
Listening to TOOR talk about race is like listening to a cannibal talk about table manners. Don't indulge him and waste your time.
Re Asian players, it's complicated. There are Asian players out there who are definitely good enough but who never make it.
The reason is probably a combination of racism, having parents who aspire to more academic careers etc. It's hard to imagine a club not picking someone because of their race. Even Liverpool now have black players
Dunno how old you are myhammers but Liverpool had John Barnes for 10 seasons in the 80s and 90s and Michael Thomas for 8 years in the 90s.
I meant on a regular basis. Not token players once in a while. Liverpool were one of the last clubs to get a black player - Barnes - when everyone else had had one or more a decade earlier.
I don't think you can class John Barnes (ten years with Liverpool) and Michael Thomas (seven years) as 'token players once in a while'.
In the hospital I work, most people are Asian, considering only 7.8% of the population is Asian, the hospital is racist against white people. Using the logic used here.
Listening to myhammers talking about anything is like scraping your nails down a black...sorry chalk board.
You will never win any argument about race on a forum...
I think that the Albion have proved recently that if you are Asian and good enough, then you have a future in football.
To suggest that clubs are deliberately overlooking potential top talent because of race, is ridiculous.
Exactly, just as it is ridiculous to accuse the hospital I work in. Simply there are many Asians who go into the profession it's sort of a first choice so naturally there will be more.
My arguement wasn't about racism preventing Asians going into football.
I'll put it simply by what my dad said. When I wanted to watch or play football, he would say "Is football giving you money or food on the table? Instead of playing , study and get a good job like a doctor or a lawyer."
Much of the mentality when growing up with Asian parents from the 1st/second generation. When the Asians who were born and bred in the UK go on to have kids, it is then we will see more Asians in football.
It isn't just "If you are good enough, you'll make it" many players got a break that enabled them to make it. And many also had their careers ended early because of injury. Put it down to luck or what not, but it isn't just about if you are good enough you will make it.
Even little Pea thought about quiting footy as he thought he won't make it.
But he didn't quit and he made it. As I said if you're good enough you'll make it.

Teaching, that again is a fairly blinkered view. Yes they are parents like mine who drilled into my head that I must go to uni etc but that's just a quarter of the Asian population. You forget:
- kids that are in poverty especially up North and Midlands.
- kids that don't actually have the brain cells to get pass GCSEs
- kids that get involved in gangs and dealing who never go to college
- kids whose parents are actually supportive that their child has picked sport as a career but if that fails they can still get an late education.
Like I said this parents excuse is nothing more than a cheap comeback when there is no evidence. Banglasdeshi and Pakistani kids actually have a dire record academically which is a proven fact.
Some of the keyboard warriors on this thread use the same excuse but have no experience or knowledge of what goes on. I've seen it as a kid, spoken to cosches and then you have the bbc doc that emphasise's it.
Over a year a go we all thought racism is football was something of the 70s and 80s but certain player incidents, racism in the stands this year has shown its never gone.
Some people just like to shout racism at every opportunity and they don't stop when data proves them wrong. Like Clarke Carlisle, they just blank it out. It's like they want there to be racism, they want an excuse or a reason to be angry. It's quite sad really.
But still there's no getting away from the data.

The hospital I work in must be racist as most are Asian young by this ridiculous logic.

Kash my man, there is no racism issue, I was being sarcastic. It's a point whereby just because there are less of one race, doesn't mean there is racism. In fact using the data available, I'm sure you could work it out very easily. Now I'm not going to go into it, finding data but I'm sure we can all agree that Asians who come here(and next generations) have a strong interest in medicine etc. A very high percentage woul dgo into medicine and despite there only being 7.8% of the population Asian, the hospital I work in has a higher percentage of Asians. It's normal. Just as it's normal that less Asians are in football when you consider 7.8% of 3600 is just 280, it's quite reasonable to expect there to be very few Asians in football.
The racist card is an easy one to throw around but I just wish people would take things more seriously and look at the evidence before running around screaming racism. It just leads to anger which in turn can lead to actual racism.
Kash, what's wrong with the data? Why don't you like it? It's better than a few words from Clarke Carlisle who likes to create and promote racism, so he can pretend to fight it.
Oh look, England fans accused of 'racism'. Now I don't know what was sang about Rio but considering he likes to racially abuse others, I'm not sure what he has to complain about. Not that two wrong's make a right, of course. They do need to learn the difference between racially abusive chants and racism though, especially in football. Some idiots will sing anything to annoy another. For me that's not racism, it's racial abuse.
This coming after the English press had convinced the sheep about the racists in Ukraine and Poland and the saintly British were at the forefront, with Clarke Carlisle and the likes of the other idiots, telling English fans to stay away.
What will the punishment be? A fine for the English FA? A game behind closed doors? It's worked before hasn't it? Yeah, it hasn't really. The only thing that works is tackling the individuals. Start ejecting people from the games and you'll soon cut it out. These are idiots who think it's OK to use any means they like to annoy others, put them out and ban them. It'll soon stop.
