Marcelino's promise looking more and more like coming true. What a turnaround.

What was the result in Almeria? I think it's h2h ahead of GD.

1-1

That's not bad considering how bad we were at the start of the season! Our home form has been excellent and our away games aren't that difficult.

Win moves us onto 60pts and level with Girona, albeit they won 2-0 earlier in the season. Up to 3rd with win against Real Murcia and still got home games against likes of Girona and Almeria to come.

1-1.

Don't know whether to look and think that's a good result considering the equaliser was in 96th minute.

Draw away, win at home. Wondering if that pattern will be good enough to secure promotion?

Way things are going I think it will. The pressure's already getting to some of the teams and they're having just as much if not more trouble securing the points at home as they are away.

El Segunda es un loco división y quiero Villarreal ganar promocíon este ano. Es difícil, pero con Marcelino as entrenador es muy posible.

Lo siento para mi mal idioma, mi amigo.

No hay problema, solo intentarlo es suficiente.

Next weekend:

Villarreal-Racing
Alcorcon-Elche
Girona-Lugo
Xerez-Las Palmas
Almeria-Numancia
Ponferradina-Sporting

Good opportunity for Villarreal, as I don't see all of the direct opponents claiming full points.

Villarreal
Elche
Girona draw with Lugo
Las Palmas (you were right about their form. )
Almeria
Ponferradina

Elche have been phenomenal this season, they should survive next season.

Should it instead be quiero que el Villarreal gane promoción

?

Just out of interest.

CSTP.

My Spanish is awful.

I struggle with the grammar and have only been learning for three weeks by myself.

Closer CSTP, but we don't really use the turn of phrase "win promotion". Quiero que el Villarreal ascienda/suba (I want VIllarreal to go up) would be the most common way of putting it.

I've been learning for 2 1/2 years

No surprise that you haven't learnt the subjunctive yet

The main objective of speakinga language is to communicate. The rest is secondary to that.

As it goes, Spain's rather different to the UK in that people don't mind foreigners speaking the language poorly - on the contrary, they appreciate them actually trying as opposed to all the visitors we get who couldn't give a rat's árse.

They talk a lot with their hands if you know what I mean? Easier to undestand them because of their body language I think.

Girona made light work of Lugo.

Las Palmas 1-1 at Xerez at HT. 2nd half under way.

posted on 20/4/13

Las Palmas edged it 1-2.
Ponferradina beat Sporting 1-0.
Results not going Villarreal's way so far.

Do you want Villarreal in La Liga?

posted on 20/4/13

Yeah, of course. Out of the current 2ª bunch I'd like Sporting and Villarreal back. Sporting not gonna happen though, especially not after today.

1-0 Villarreal, half an hour to play.

0-0 with Lugo.

posted on 28/4/13

Not so bad, Lugo are a tough side.

Las Palmas got mashed by Cordoba, so that's a 4-point gap over them. It's 6 and 12 respectively to 7th and 8th, so that seems to guarantee at least the playoffs now.

Pity about Alcorcon's injury time winner. You're only 3 behind though. Let's hope Girona don't win today.
