If we get him, he isn't going to get enough game time and his development will be stunted. I'd rather we not just stockpile players so other teams can't have him.
I think he'll end up at somewhere like Spurs anyway - that'd be the perfect move for him right now IMO.
You have Rooney, RVP, Welbeck and Hernandez.
You really think Fergie will add another striker?
While people will say we have too many strikers, there is an old saying in football and that is 'you can never have too many strikers'

Fek off Rob, you like totally just made that up!!
Don't want Benteke whatsoever

Read the 8th paragraph. He says that he's been brought up on that saying
Let me fix that for you Rob

Read the article I provided and see the actual football men who validated that saying
He seems more of a Liverpool type of player to me. I can see them going for him, in addition to Suarez and Sturridge. [If the former stays on this year]
"You can never have too many strikers. I've been brought up on that as a player and a manager. When I was at Oldham Joe Royle used to have six strikers and everyone got games."

We can't even get 4 strikers to have games in today's football. How the feck did they manage to 6 strikers to play? 8 games each max?

Have you seen him this season? He has it all and I feel we'll kick ourselves if he goes off to City or Chelsea (which is likely if we don't buy him).
His goal against Stoke this weekend was the latest in many top class goals.
Yeah, Liverpool is a good shout.
We don't Benteke, and Benteke would be wise not to join us at this stage in his career.
I have seen him play Rob, I do actually think he's a great striker. To get an average rate of 1 in 2 for a team like Aston Villa fighting for their lives with such a young inexperienced team is a great achievement.
I just don't think we need him considering at the moment on our books we have
Van Persie
Rooney
Hernandez
Welbeck
Macheda
Henriquez
Dark
Yeah, I agree we have a lot of strikers on our books but
Macheda - on his way out
Henriquez - at least 3/4 years from being United class
Rooney - May be leaving and on the decline
Welbeck - Possibly being turned into a winger (Sir Alex's choice, not mine)
Hernandez - Never seems to start games and I feel he's seen as a super sub.
Van Persie - getting older and I can't see him being a starter for us at 31/32 in the way he is now.
If Benteke signed Welbeck would be gone.
You'd have to make a bid of 20Mil+ if you want to sign him. Remember he has a lengthy contract. So in others words you're not facking getting him.
AdotVilla
Just out of interest, as a Villa fan who watches him every week do you think he has what it takes to be one of the worlds best strikers?
I would prefer we gave Bebe a chance as a striker first
Robb...
Yes he does. But him moving in the summer will not help. He'll end up playing fewer games, thus messing up his chances of progression.
People on here are rightly applauding his efforts this season, but people need to understand there have been periods this season where he has not played too well. But, no-one has scrutinised him for that, but instead he has been given a chance game after game thus showing his credentials.
He needs time, he won't get that if he moves. If he plays one bad game at a United or City, they'll drop him and opinions will change.
For me like Michu he needs to wait. If we get relegated then I expect him to move. But if we stay up he should stay and I'll think he'll stay.
He's at a period of his career where he is getting better and better... He's at the right place at this moment in time, and he doesn't need to change it yet. He should wait to see what happens next season.

Fair enough. I do think he would be great at United but like you and others have said, perhaps he needs to stay at Villa a while longer.
For what its worth, I hope and think you guys will stay up. And congrats to your youth side. Stunning triumph the other day
Respect The youth did great, just goes to show we need to fix up in the present because we have a future waiting for us...
oh for the love of god rob, stop wumming us all and write a proper article
Said it before and I'll say it again. Rob is a wum.
