Bayern are the German Manchester United.
I just meant in the terms of having legends stay at the club as they were one of the first to do so
G Neville was spot on, the decision United take on who their next manager would be a victory for sanity.
OH AH well said, most clubs, not all, would not recognise class or respect if it whacked them in the face
United is probably the only club to not have appointed a foreign manager yet, we are a club steeped in tradition and history. I'm happy we've stuck to this philosophy and remained as British as possible.
Lets' wait and see if you're all singing his praises if things start badly. He's never been under the pressure to win every game like he will be at OT.
I do think he's a good appointment, but be honest with yourselves will you enjoy his direct, not far from long ball style of football?
Pep will be Bayern's 13th manager in the same period we've had 1 though.
I will back Moyes but I am still unsure if he has that winning mentality we need.
I very much doubt he will play long ball football. Jut because he did that at everton, he has better players who like the ball in the ground so he will do that he isn't thick. And if he starts badly then he does, we will get behind and help him, he's part of Manchester United and we should stand by him
He has winning mentality that 4-4 game at old Trafford you need to have guts as an opposition manager to do that. He has also beaten city 6 times out of their last 8 games and his teams always figh and give there all. It's the hardest away game of the season because of him. He will give us that defensive ability and let the attacking players express themselves.
Kneerash, horses for courses, David tailored his game at Everton to suit his players, at Utd he will have a far bigger pool and a far better pool of players to pick from
I do not, think that that style of football is that bad, I would rather that than watch the endless pass, pass, pass type of ball played by say Arsenal, I like high tempo pressing football, Moysey will adapt and change his game to suit IMHO
"let the attacking players express themselves."
I hope he does but what has he done at Everton that proves this? This seems to be more in hope.
At everton he didn't have Kagawa, RVP, Nani
United have never employed a foreign manager because they have only employed one manager in the last quarter of a century.
Foreign managers were not around in our leagues in 1986.
If things go belly up, which i'm not saying they will but a foreign manager will soon follow.
I agree he will have better players at united but he had some good footballers at Everton and still played it long to Fellaini most of the time.
also he's never bought a decent striker in his career at Everton.
Jelavic was ok for a bit but he's done nothing this season, McFadden, Beatie (for 8 mill) etc.
most clubs, not all, would not recognise class or respect if it whacked them in the face

I recognise it and I agree, it is a great appointment.
However, I notice a lot of your own fans on here bitching and moaning because you have not appointed flavour of the month. So they also fail to recognise class.

I'm sure Moyes will have had to sit down with the powers that be at United and explain his plans for the running of the side and how he'd play.
He will know better than anyone the traditions in place at United and how attacking football is the cornerstone of our success and will know exactly what to do.
I reckon he'll be relieved to just have these talented footballers at his disposal and be able to unleash them on sides rather than try to do that with lesser players at Everton and be outplayed by the better teams.

He's on a stop clock to getting fired
Go support a different club then Stretty.
I bet 99% of United supporters on here are embarrassed to have fans like you among us.
That's what I told Stretty yesterday, but he ain't listening
I've always had respect for David Moyes and the job he did at Everton with limited resources. I remember saying that with a good team and the resources he needs to succeed; Moyes will be successful.
Now my theory will be put to the test.
Moyes is a known admirer of the Bundesliga which, given the quality on display of Bayern and Dortmund, combined with the resources and quality of players he'll have at United, could give us some pointers as to where we'll be heading in terms of tactics, playing style etc...
No thanks
Moyes can go and manage another one by all means
I welcome the appointment with cautious optimism. People who jizzz over Guardiola need to remember he didn't have a proper job until he became a manager of Barca and look what happened.
If he hits the ground running, we may have another legendary manager
Seriously Stretty, feck off you plum
