Purely HYPOTHETICALLY speaking

I vited 5 because this is a very strong team full of match winners.

Having said that, it'll be harder without you know who at the helm

1 star. Superb team on paper but three reasons why it might not happen:

1) Bayern and Barca will be very strong next year.
2) I'm not too sure about the contrasting styles of Rooney, Bale and Kagawa.
3) Thiago and Carrick is still a bit light weight in terms of physicality.

No cause Kagawa is on the wing.

I think the defensive aspect will have to be a team effort relying on interception rather than crunching tackles.

Kagawa playing the role he plays for Japan. A free role

No, under fergie maybe but unlikely under moyes

Kagawa will do a much better job playing where you've put lard boy as well

Where did Kagawa play for Dortmund and where does he play for Japan?

It's definitely a very strong team.

Few weaknesses for me, the wings are imbalanced, Bale on the wrong side and Kagawa isn't really a winger, and is our best #10.

Secondly, I believe this year will be the year where the old guard of Vidic, Rio and especially Evra, will show their age has caught up to them, and won't be pulling out the performances of recent years, unfortunately.

And finally, as noted, we are playing under Moyes now, so it's all uncertainties on how we're going to play this year!

That good Japan don't even play him there, you mean?

Rooney is still our best number 10. Even in a season where he looked disinterested, unfit and had a paddy, he still got more assists than any other Utd player and 16 goals.

Rooney back to anything like his best is better than Kagawa. And I like Shinji. He needs to play that false left wing role like he does so well for Japan.

SLM, my apologies, Arsenal have no chanve.

Regarding Kagawa, I said he would do a better job there than lard boy as he can actually control a ball

I'd swap Rooney and Kagawa around too. Both players can do more damage that way.

Hypothetically, that side could win the league.

I wouldn't. Rooney is pretty ineffectual on the left

Good players can still play well in different positions, that doesn't make it their position.

And as good as Rooney is on his day, he's too inconsistent for me, and how long until he wants out again if he stays. I personally would much rather see us get the best out of Kagawa in these next few years.

Kagawa only looked bad on the left under fergie because of fergies obsession with wing play. This meant kagawa was almost always stick on the left byline to begin with

Kagawa can easily play the role mata, silva, nasri etc plays for their respective clubs. In fact, he's probably better there because hell have more space

posted on 24/6/13

defence too slow, rooney is a shittey player, kagawa on the left is basically half the player he in the centre. Never going to win a CL. Doubt it would win a competitive prem like the one coming up.

The lack of respect Rooney gets from our fans is disgraceful

Yes he's not as good as we thought he'd become, yes he's a idiot as a person but as a Manchester United player, he's done so much for us in the last 10 years

He dragged us through some tough times when we sold CR7 and Tevez and he's nearly breaking club goal scoring records

Just because we have RVP now doesn't mean Rooney is useless

Meh kagawa is not silva or mata. We could have bought those players and used them there if we wanted to. We bought him for his ability through the middle, a role which he is the most effective. Why he should move to accomodate a player who is clearly on the wane and more trouble than he is worth in rooney is the greatest joke on these boards.

Rooney is an incomplete player playing at the heart of our team. Because of that this team will continue to look like the carap is has looked like for sometime now. Dude cannot pass 5 yards with any consistency. Honestly.

Feck the goalscoring record. It does not change the fact that he is not good to play that key role on this team. Not even close. His ability is that of a back up player, only he is being paid foolish amounts of money.

His position is one of the easiest to upgrade and his goals are easily, and maybe more effectively replaced by hernandez. At least he does not pretend to be this world class player.

No one is denying he's been a massive factor to our success, nor saying that he's useless.

But, in my personal opinion, and probably that of a lot others, we have a better and younger player now who plays the same role. We have two great #10s but what edges Kagawa for me is that he is a crafty and creative player who will bring flare back to our play. I believe we've only seen small glimpses of what Kagawa is really capable of and the best is yet to come. He's also younger and seems more likely to just get on with it and play his game, instead of questioning the club and whatnot.
