At 54, I now find it a tadge hard keeping up with those 18 year old greyhounds, who can fly past me, any longer.

I still play the occaision vets game in the RN, when they crop up though and still like a game of 5-aside when I get a chance.

I play 11 a side saturdays, 5 a side mondays and 6 a side tuesdays.

that doesn't mean im fit and doesn't mean im any good.

I think i'm ok, I play as a left winger for 11 a side and play as striker on monday and tuesday. I can use both feet, im quick and my decision making is pretty good too, i also know where the goal is which helps.

my problem or issue is....

I'm lazy... I used to have loads of energy but since i've got better, touch improved, strike the ball cleaner, experience etc etc i've just got lazy even though I'm still pretty quick.

my attitude sucks

What I lack in technique I make up for by being a I like to patrol in front of the back 4, I don’t so much read the game but like to foam at the mouth.

I'm normally foaming at the mouth just behind you then Bluedroog!

Essex Senior standard. Just play Saturdays now. Used to do Sunday's too. Knee's can't do two days in a row anymore.

I play 5 a side and 7 a side, used to play 11 a side.

Started off as a speedy winger when I was a youngster, then moved onto CAM as I got a bit slower, then moved into a holding CM role as I got lazier, but i'm wiser now and pull the strings Pirlo style.......Or try.

Football is a constant in a man's life, it's something you play when younger and continue to play through your adult life until you see fit. And it's very sad to get to that stage and see that folks are running rings around you and you struggle to get through one half let alone 90 minutes!

Hmmm I use to play as a striker. And then as a winger and now kind of play in the hole buzzin around. I am going to start a fitness routine as of this week to get that fitness back which gets harder every year. I also have a horrid problem with blisters. I have played my whole life, worn compede, plasters, 3 sets of socks at a time. changed boots. and still get blisters.

Try Zinc Oxide tape Nick, sticks like $hit to a shovel and gives good protection.

I always wear it on a squad march, especially in new boots!

I played a high youth level for some lower league teams in Scotland. Was at Stenhousemuir and East Stirling as a kid. Also went on tour of Holland with the central Scotland regional team in my early teens.

Nowadays I only play 5's. Was playing Saturday amateur until a couple of years ago.

Highlights have been playing against guys like Graham Dorrans, Maiden Mcgeady and Robert Snodgrass at various youth levels.

Like Brum I'm 54, so playing doesn't happen anymore (for me anyway), but I used to play to a reasonable standard and when I was about 13-14 I had Crystal Palace scouts sniffing around me (allegedly).

Here's a goal I scored once when I did play, so you tell me whether you think I could play or not.

I was in the kingston guardian on a weekly basis for my goal scoring exploits as a youth...then glandular fever took it all away *violin*

Chelsea since '69 - love it mate, what a beauty! Involved in the build up too. Not that it happens to me much but I like your chest down to yourself was just so perfect that there was only one way to hit it. Instinctive goal.
