I don't think it would be an issue at this stage for Mignolet to have no competition. He's only just joined so will be looking to make a name for himself, so not much danger of complacency. Might even take a bit of pressure off....
We still need an experienced back up that isn't Jones if Reina leaves.
Its a tricky one, it could work both ways, just depends on Mignolet and his mentality really, but he didn't lack mental strength at Sunderland.
Keeper is always a strange one because its not traditionally a position where you have much rotation. To get a quality back up who is happy just being back up is very difficult.
The outfield positions are less restricted.
I think Reinas form has been below par for 2 years now
sell for £10+ mil would be great business
Do we immediately though Kash?
With no European football, Jones will hardly play anyway. Mignolet has no injury history really.
If in Europe I can certainly see the need for another keeper, but we will only play something like 45 games this season depending on how we do in the cups.
Even if we get to both domestic cup finals we will only play about 50 games.
For the handful of games, I don't think we necessarily need another keeper this season.
Pepe has been wanting to leave for years, we now have a good replcaement so lets ger rid and get a good 10 mil to re-invest in the squad.
I would keep Pepe then sell him next season. This will give our new young keeper a season to settle in.
He's contracted to 2016, so why should we be in a hurry to sell? The competition would be good and bring the best out of the players.
£4m profit, that will do for me,i think his best years are behind him, might have a friedel twilight later on,but i wont be too fussed to see him move on,decent servant, best wishes if he goes, and i think he will.

If thats the case i think reina would be starting from second place right now, rodgers man will get the nod.
have to laugh at this as its though all of Arsenals targets are the subject of bids/speculation to other clubs and they don't know what to do first!
It's like Wenger's doing the Rocky scene of chasing after a chicken, or in this case chickens!
Maybe his form dipped because he didn't have any proper competition. Might see an improvement with Pepe now we have Mignolet.
cool wonder if rafa will get that 55m added to his transfer budget.
Reinas form dipped when the effects of him losing his goalkeeping coach became apparent.
