So if your child did something wrong would you make excuses for the child and blame others?
I am a harsh father.
No excuses in my household.
So why the excuses for Rooney then?
Robb
My point is that Moyes will look weak after categorically stating that Rooney will not be sold.
I for one will admire Moyes if he refuses to sell Wayne. Rooney may not be happy about it but he will have no choice but to buckle down and get on with it as he's a highly paid professional footballer. Once the season starts and the transfer window has been and gone he'll be fine and will just get on with it. He may even really enjoy it under Moyes and eventually decide that he wants to stay once he realises that he's still an important part of the team and not just back up to RVP.
Mr Z
He's in a no win situation though. Rooney has obviously wanted to leave since May and probably before so it's something he's inherited.
And being that Rooney still wants to leave after 3 months+ you'd have to imagine nothing will change his mind.
If Rooney goes public and wants out then a lot more supporters will accept that Moyes has his hands tied and hopefully more people will understand why Sir Alex said what he did back in May - ie, to protect Moyes from even more fallout if Rooney wanting to leave was a recent revelation.
Rooney plays for the team I support. I am more likely to give him leeway than my daughter.

Rooney wants to leave the team you support. I'd imagine your daughter will never wanna leave your family!
everyone keep saying rooney has got the power, that is complete bs. Utd have the power in this situation just like arsenal had the power to keep rvp against his will, and BVB are choosing to keep lewadoski against his will
yes we would lose money, but the cost of selling rooney from a position of weakness imo is far greater.
You cannot compare Rooney to a member of family.
It's like saying you'd sack an employee for nicking but you can't exactly sack your child if, God forbid, they stole from you.

Lewandowski wants to leave Dortmund and has publicly said so but he's not being allowed to. However i still think once the season gets under way properly he'll concentrate on the job in hand and play well for them. Rooney will do the same.
Arsenal only sold RVP to United because he had a year left. Like i said if he had 2 years left I'm pretty certain they wouldn't have sold him to a huge historical rival like United even if he still publicly asked to leave.
I'm still confident Rooney will be a United player by Sep 2nd.
BVB are being stupid though.
Lewansdowski is still going to Bayern next summer but for free. Dortmund could have gotten £35 million for Lewandowski this summer and replaced a guy they're gonna need to replace anyway! But they'll have to do it next summer but with no transfer fee.
United are stronger position than Dortmund here in that if he's kept for another year it just gives Kagawa an extra year playing with United so then if we sell Rooney next year instead we wouldn't need to spend big on a replacement as we'd already have one.
Rooney is worth more to us than the £30m fee we would likley get UNLESS we can replace him with a top player. Given how difficult we are already finding it to get the midfielders we want i would suggest keeping him. Its not as though hes going to rot in the reserves for 2 years is he. Moyes has said he wants to get Rooney goals. Should he still be at the club come Sep 2 i wouldnt put it past Rooney to sign a new contract before the end of the season.
Darren
That makes sense in theory but the only way Kagawa is going to get game time in his best position to show he can be a good replacement for Rooney is to play every week as a #10! Something that won't happen if Rooney stays.
Yeah that's true, and why in the long term I think we could be better for it.

the alternative is to surrender to Bayern without putting up a fight. It is a fight they are going to lose eventually but boy the respect they will earn will be so much more.
It also sets a precedent and now clubs will think twice before dreaming of poaching BVB player.
Ginger
Sure, but had they maybe gotten Gomez or one of the other Bayern players as part of the deal that might have been more salvageable.
I really doubt the BVB fans will support him this season and if they do i'll be shocked.
If Rooney hands in a transfer request in this window i'm certain the mood will change on here and most will want him gone.
I reckon Dortmund will try and introduce Aumbayamang into the team gradually so that when Lewandowski goes to Bayern he'd be ready to lead the line full time.

In very simple terms, where do you get this Kagawa number 10 stuff from?

SLM, I'm not sure why you keep trying to peddle this myth that Kagawa has always played on the left when it's universally known that he played attacking midfield.
1) Klopp says that now but why didn't he play him there?
2) Why didn't SAF play him there?
3) Why doesn't the Japan coach play him there?
4) Why didn't Moyes play him there in pre season?
