Fulham have also evidently made a bid for Cresswell, the Ipswich left back. And if that deal goes through then no surprise if McCarthy brings in Stephen Ward as a replacement
Good news there DJ, especially the Creswell bid.
I'll be most sorry to lose Doyle but if we could ship those three out for a combined transfer fee/reduction in wages of around £6m that will be decent business. Ward won't be missed at all as he isn't in KJs plans, Sako should be covered through a good solid left winger on a fifth of the wage and Doyle's departure will allow Siggy/Mcalinden a chance to support Griffiths, whilst giving us the cash to bring in a journeyman target man Centre Forward to increase KJs options.

Apparently the two that have been linked to us will be going into the u21's and not the first team, so does that mean there will still be signings for the first team?

Reading that Ipswich have turned down Fulhams initial offer of £3.7m for Cresswell. Cant believe they are in a position to say no if Fulham increase that offer a bit
Interesting findings DJ.
I hope the fee for Sako will be at least what we paid for him.
As for Doyle, it may well be that his 40,000 quid a week salary (that's been reported recently) is in fact true. However, if we can get around 1.5 - 2m for him it will be worth our while paying half his salary. It would cost us 1m as his contract is up on 30-6-14.
DJ......I haven't heard this news (Sako, Doyle)
Where did you hear it ?
I would have to shoot you if I told you halfman. Maybe it will be widely reported soon. Or maybe I will have to pretend someone hacked my account on here and told porkies

I've got the one about Doyle now but still nowt on Sako ......which is my bigger concern in all honesty !
That lad is a match winner !
I think Perton has been hacked again
The only way we get shot of Ward is if Cresswell moves on, will be great business for us to offload him and thankfully we can rely on Mick to not let us down on this one.
Cinci do you really think he will want ward?
I will pose naked next to the stan cullis statue if we sell him to bent nose before the transfer window closes in September.
And it would be another £50
Can't see anyone else taking him perton.
Mick loves his boys, you would have to feel sorry for Ipswich though, chalk and cheese between the two players.
I wonder why he didnt take stearman after having him on loan?
Weren't Ipswich interested in Stearman after he impressed on loan and earned rave reviews from most of their supporters who couldn't believe we loaned him out?
I'm sure I read somewhere that Ipswich couldn't afford the transfer fee and that Jackett didn't want to sell as he saw him as an important member of the team. Good decision so far considering we've kept two clean sheets in the games he's played in.
I could be wrong but, as Perton disagrees, I'm probably not.
I forgot to mention Mick signed Berra on a free. A steal for a Championship club and a £50 loss for Perton.
Was berra a wolves player at the time.
No and did I agree to the bet tamwolf.
Once again NO.
No mystery about Stearman not signing for Ipswich. Mick picked Berra ahead of him throughout his time at Wolves and did so again when he had a choice of the two this summer. And I think he has the better defender
But if we are to believe the early summer reports DJ, he did go for Stearman first.
No idea given all the rumours you hear but personally I'm glad we have stears instead of Berra, and Ipswich would rather have stears too if you believe the forums.
There was never any time when McCarthy has picked Stearman ahead of Berra at Wolves. And at the time I don't recall any Wolves supporter disputing that Berra was the better of the two. Stearman was constantly ripped apart for the unforced errors he regularly made that cost us many games.
As for forums that you are constantly quoting we all know you just recall the bits you like to hear. I remember you saying as McCarthy was taking Ipswich from relegation certainties to a mid table team that their supporters were more concerned that he had lost two games heavily. Complete garbage of course but it suited the argument you wanted to put forward.
Guess you didn't see these comments from their fans when Berra signed for Ipswich
Truly excellect signing, MM is on his way to being an ITFC legend.
Welcome to Town Christophe.
I am very happy with the way Mick is going about his business and the way the squad is shaping up
I struggled to find one post against the Berra signing but as you say I am sure it is almost unanimous that they really wanted Stearman
Here we go, no hint of being aggressive from me but yet you throw it back.
I never ever claimed they were more concerned with two defeats as opposed to safety, j did say at the time, which was early in his reign that they were questioning his defensive management due to two very heavy defeats.
I have not claimed they have said he was a poor signing either, but there is a thread on the forum discussing their chances and plenty were bringing up stewrman, some even saying it may cost them promotion, Ott I know, but it is what was said.
Go and put a thread up and I guarantee the response will be to have stears over Berra.
Also Berra is a bench player thus far.
