Excellent stuff. Hope to see you guys (us ) in the Prem next season.

Yep as hard as it is for a Leicester fan to say well done, the fact is youve played some great football and spent very well. Top 2 with QPR for me, prem would be better with clubs like Forest and Leeds back in it.

I hope we can get through the play offs

Blackstarr, hope so!

Also Nice to see you back again

Think Leicester are a strong team like last season but they haven't really improved while others have. It'll be an achievement to get into the play-offs.

It's a tough league this year: Watford and Reading are my tips for top two with QPR, Wigan, Bolton and Brighton (despite their start) looking very strong. I wouldn't fancy being in the play-offs against any of that lot.

We're a solid striker off the pace I think but you never know who will go on a run of goals. Big improvement at the back for us makes me more confident than last year.

We must remember that these 3 wins are just a blip! (4 if you include the LC)

Derby fans are concerned about us. We only had 1 win in 8 at the end of the season.

We are Nottingham Forest, we'll buy who we want

problem nearly sorted

Watching the recorded Forest highlights from last night's TV with the boys, followed by a fry up breakfast and being able to point out that Forest are top of the league. Sunday mornings don't start much better!

Atmosphere was good again yesterday. Glad I made my move to the upper bridgford. Good set of lads around me too

We are Nottingham Forest, we're top of the league

We were great yesterday. We made a strong and fast Bolton team look very average. Early days though, fingers crossed we only get better. My MoM would have been Halford, although Mackie and Lichaj had crackers too.

That Derby lot are pretty quiet

Talking of which ... we almost have 11pts

Was in lower bridgford for the first time yesterday. it's actually not that bad, its like a mini A block. Need some more people in there to really get it going but for £150 less I will stay there!

It does feel a little odd with Forest starting so well but I'm not complaining! I have a few questions from yesterday though. Where was Henderson? Was he injured or just left out? Why was Halford picked in what the BBC described as a striker crisis when we had Tudgay, Derbyshire and Miller? Hardly a crisis! I suppose if Dex and Hendo were unavailable then we were lacking a target man and Halford can do that job. Did Pep improve his performance given that he's been criticised a bit this season? How has Wilson settled in? And finally, have we played well in these first 3 games or have we played 3 weak sides? It looks like Blackburn may struggle but I would expect Bolton to challenge top 6 and Hudders to be top half of table so no pushover.

Pep played better yesterday imo, but he's still guilty too often for giving the ball away too easily. Wilson looks fantastic, he's settled in brilliantly. Him and Hobbs look as though they can be the strongest defensive partnership we've had for many years. Bolton looked decent; they've got a lot of quality and should be near top 6 come the end of the season. We completely out passed them though, all the goals came from good passing moves. And we didn't have a striker crisis, that's just lazy journalism. Halford won his place on merit, and he played brilliantly.

Halford is an unbelievably versatile player considering he can play all across back 4 and has played on the wing too. I think if I was Miller or Derbyshire I'd be a little put out that our back up CB was playing upfront ahead of me. But fair play to him if he's done well and got MoM.

That's the BBC for you though, and it showed again on the FL show again yesterday.

You can just sense that they are absolutely grinding their teeth at the fact we are top as they are absolutely gagging for QPR to be their instead. It must have been an extremely painful thing for them to actually have us on the front of the championship page as we are top!

Oh well we don't do things like that at Forest!

I know SBD. And yet on football league show they barely made reference to our unbeaten run and no goals conceded. They just reported our game as another uneventful league match. They were far more interested in Wigan and Derby/Leic.

Hmm, maybe not a crisis but it's not great. Derbyshire's the only one of them who deserves a place but I can see why he wasn't played against Knight and Wheater, they're giants.

Lloydx:- Maybe it was just a Billy masterstroke knowing they would be set up to deal with Hendo, Miller. Send Halford on unconventional but effective, and not in the place he should be (for them that is)
Great start let's pit our wits against Watford, if we keep a clean sheet there maybe

Yeah I think that's right Lloyd, we needed a big man up top and Halford fittrd the bill. I think Derbyshire will get chances this season but I can see Miller going on loan again.

Price said last night that we were more then 75% towards signing a striker who he was excited about signing.

Hopefully whoever it is, is an exciting prospect for us fans as well

It could be Billy Sharp?

Not in the Southampton Squad, not gone out on loan.
It's feasible that we're offering the best wages going not withstanding Bill's training regime?

If not, then who? Sharp scored 10 goals in 15 games odd that speaks for itself.

posted on 18/8/13

He scored 10 goals in 39 games. 1 in 4 basically. Not great. And it won't be him.

posted on 18/8/13

Agree with Mr happy, it won't be Sharp, Price even said it wouldn't be him a few weeks ago and that we weren't after him at all.

Only conceivable thing is that its once big mind game but I don't think so.
