I actually think Cole is more overrated than Baines. For the past 2 years, I watch him and I don't get the fuss. I've seen Lennon and Valencia torment him a lot. He's pretty average going forward. I guess it's that Scott Parkesque ability to throw his body on the line that makes him that highly rated.

Baines is one of if not the best & most productive left backs for the past 3 years

Walker and Johnson at RB really are pants. One position where England are really weak. Richards looked promising but injuries and a long bench spell have wrecked him in City.

Baines is pretty woeful at defending, Gibbs is much better in that department.

Gibbs is faster and never stops running, one minute he's in the opposition box next minute he's making a tackle to stop the opposition scoring.

Gibbs' tackling is also very underrated, still believe after Kos he's the best tackler in our club.

You may say Arsenal fans overrate him but you don't watch him play game in game out and over the last couple of seasons whenever he's played he's put in top performances and is usually one of our best players.

He's better than Monreal as well.

Cole should be starting England LB, then Gibbs, then Shaw.

Kos is like a poor man's Rio in his younger years. Has all the tools of a top class cb and will often apply them but all his good work will be forgotten when he makes a high profile error.

Vermaelen has always been the bigger liability. It's just that he doesn't make as many obvious blunders as Kos has. But him not being that good at defending seems to bypass a lot of people. Well, it used to anyway. Many have come to this realisation as he's not scoring goals to paper over his inadequacies.

It's no surprise Arsenal's defence looked better when Kos was paired with Mertesacker.

He hardly ever makes mistakes what you on about. Apart from city last year and brum in 11 i cant think of many over mistakes. There was a reason both bayern and barca were interested

He is top quality. I would advise you to watch him

Kos is one of the top 3 CBs in the country. He hardly ever makes 'high profile' errors. He makes a mistake every now and then, just like every other top CB. His errors are only highlighted to the extreme because he plays for Arsenal.

Easily one of the top 3 in the league.

Get real ffs. I think Gibbs is a good player for the record, but just because someone plays well for arsenal doesn't automatically make them the best player in their position in the league.

if I had to pick between the two and we didnt have arguably the greatest left back of all time in Ashley Cole, id go with Gibbs.

I prefer defense from my left back. Baines is very nice on offense though.
