I thought Ronald would be rated higher than that, he was sensational for us they year we got to the Champions League last 16.
I remember a penalty save against them as well
Antti Niemi was one of the most under rated goalkeepers of the last ten/fifteen years. Should have played for bigger clubs than he did.
when did waterreus save a pen v the tims?
also chris woods wasa better GK than Klos and McGregor
he is another who seems to be left out when praise is given.
other GK used in last 20 odd years
Ally Maxwell
Colin Scott
Billy Thompson
Theo Snelders
Mark Brown
Neil Alexander
Roy Carroll
remember at one of my first rangers games in the 96/97 season vs kilmarnock we had andy dibble in goals and we got beat 2-1 if i remember
he must be the worst
Dibble played in one of the most important old firm games in history and played well
the week prior to that killie game infact, we beat the timns 1-0 at the san giro.
im pretty sure he got a tattoo of it, he's on twitter
letizi is the worst imo, he was signed as a 1st choice GK, dibble was an emergency signing cause goram and snelders were injured
DIbble was rubbish but he did have a good game that night. He didn't look right though in the all white gear wi the big red coupon
Chris woods was one of my favorites as a kid he used to live in dunblane and was in our pub every so often.
One day my mum asked if he would sign my goalie gloves but she couldn't find them. The next day he dropped in a signed picture with the message from one goalie to another.
I felt about 10 foot tall.
I remember the watterus penalty save it was against belamy wasn't it?
I remember it because they were slagging us of for signing him!
I thought Charbonnier was excellent,
But, my memory is going, he didn't seem to last too long.
Can't remember what happened, i do recall he was a touch eccentric. Top keeper.
I remember charbonnier breaking his arm which was the end of his rangers days.
Cheers super, couldn't remember.
I recall thinking after he came in after Goram....."fecks sake, not another one"
Seem to remember him being a real character as well
Broken arm ? did he not do something Cantonaesque and retire to go fishing/painting/wine growing !
1 Andy Goram
2 Stefan Klos
3 Allan McGregor
Which Andy Goram are you talking about?
I remember Charbonnier as being a good keeper, he just couldn't take goal kicks
Then he got injured and Klos came in, and that was that.
My list (From what I remember)
1)Goram
2)Klos
3)Wattereus
4) Charbonnier
5) Alexander
6) McGregor
7) Mhyre
8) Leitizi
9) Niemi
10) Christiansen
Prob a few others I've forgotten.
there was the 2-0 game at parkhead that waterreus played, he didnt save a penalty but he made about 5 top class saves in that game, 3 from bellamy in the first half, he didnt save a penalty though.
Charbonnier done his knee at home vs bayer leverkusen in the uefa cup, we drew 1-1 at home that night but went through cause we won 2-1 in germany.
Niemi took over the sticks until Klos was signed a few days before xmas, i wasnt convince about klos for the rest of that season but when charbonnier returned to team he was fakin hopeless, flapping like mad against valencia in CL and celtic at parkheid when we drew 1-1
diblle might not have been a top GK but he did well in the few games he had, Letizi is the worst GK ive ever seen at Ibrox
100% agree.
Goalkeeper AND defence have always been the positions we've excelled over Celtic in the past 20 years.
Big Lurch is probably about the best keeper I've seen for Celtic since Bonner, and that probably tells you all you need to know.
1. Goram
2. Klos
3. Charbonnier
4. Watterreus
5. MacGregor
6. Maxwell
7. Niemi
8. Alexander
9. Snelders
10. Christiansen
11. Mhyre
12. Brown
13. Carroll
14. Letizi
i would put alexander ahead of ally maxwell
he was a bombscare that kent, awful GK
