The player was a striker, who was coming till jan.
Player and his club all agreed
Then the agent said no, as the player was in his last year of his contract, he wanted the parent club to pay his contract up and Leeds to give a one year deal,
Bates said f u ck off, deal agreed and if the player isnt down by bradford game, the deal is off completely
Fair play then and if true you have to wonder about some of these agents
lucas
That what bates has said
If that is what Bates has said then you have to question teh validity of it.
It's never Bates fault is it.
He continually tries to create someone else for fans to deflect their anger onto.
Like I said if true fair enough don't kno why bares would lie but then again I don't know why bates does alot if the things he does
LIW you were also right on your assertions of the past couple of years about season tickets pricing out a generation of fans
lucas, that is because attracting the next generation of fans is a long term plan and Bates isn't planning for the long term.
Every year he's been at the club will take 2 years to undo.
Completly agree I can't actually believe he is as short sighted as he is
Completly agree I can't actually believe he is as short sighted as he is

Thats what he has glasses for....to correct it
Ken Bates is 79 i believe, so that explains it all why he only cares about the short term and increasing his wealth. He doesn't give a damn about Leeds so it won't worry him that our long term future is threatened.
lucas, it's because he's not planning on being here long term, that will be someone else's problem.
My fear is that we'll end up like a Preston or a Huddersfield.
Someone who won something ages ago but now is just an average sized club hovering around CCC and Div3.
The longer we're out of the media spotlight, the longer it is since we won something and the higher the prices to get in, will have a huge impact on us attracting our next generation of fans.
And as a fan, who wants to be in a have empty stadium? His excessive ticket pricing and policies mean the matchday atmoisphere for everyone is diminished and must make it harder for the team too.
Would you rather be playing in a half empty ER or a full house Carrow Road for example?
If Bates is to be trusted, which is a big ask, a deal was made until an agent demanded more money, after the deal had been made, if this is true then I agree the deal shouldn't have gone through
Please don't touch whilst I acept your point, I still can't believe it.
I I want to package a product I make it look pretty and prove it has a long term sales value, tarring up the stadium will only get you so far, kb has been trying to sell this club for close to 3 years anyone in property in London could tell you as much and I fail to see how making generations of fans disenfranchised helps him achieve this
That's my logic anyway may not be correct
He had people wanting to buy Leeds specifically this calendar year, he didn't want to sell.
He is pursuing his Leeds village dreams at all costs and it will end in tears for us.
Didn't he spruce up Stamford Bridge to make them more sellable?
Once he had done this didn't he sell them to a better owner?
With this owner did the sc umbags that are Chelsea go on to better things?
Answers on a postcard..........
Lukey whilst that is true Chelsea were days away from following us down the same route, their isn't a Russian billionarr on every corner waiting to bail out clubs
I know...but you can live in hope! ;o)
My logic is, yes he is in it for the short term, but if he can make us a more attractive proposition by making us to a profitable club, if this means not paying extravagant wages to mercenary footballers, and those bas tard agents, then fair play to him.
Yes it could mean that we are here for a while but then the also would make us the best looking club for a buyer (I think we are already with our fan base).
I know it's a slog, but look at where we were, and where we are now....I would have bitten your hand off for this a while back.

lukey was nothing to do with Bates.
Abramovich was trying to buy Spurs, Levy thought he was too good to be true and so he flew across London to Chelsea where Bates was bricking himself on the Wednesday as he knew he was unable to meet his payments on the Friday.
Bates ultimately made 100mill from the Chelsea sale after conning Abramovich with what he sold him first time around.
Go to Chelsea Village if you haven't already been there.
It's in the heart of a fashionable area of London.
It was a financial disaster.
The hotel is rarely full.
If you came to Leeds, would you rather stay in Leeds with all it's bars and nightlife, or Beeston?
Hate to break it to you 3legs, but, Chelsea being in
London is far more attractive to potential Russian Oil Magnates/Billionaires than Leeds. As much as I love it in Leeds. It's not the draw that London is. Don't expect Bates ill-advised and dodgy real estate gamble in London, as a
model, having a similar pay-off here.
