Im not really surprised anymore to be honest. I always expect the worst from anything villa related. the place has been cursed for awhile. villa park rarely sees a victory from the home side which is disturbing in itself.

Terrible, terrible our run of defeats. Oh wait, didn't we beat Arsenal at Arsenal?

Fact, we played 3 very tough games against top clubs, won one and narrowly lost two. Beforehand I could see us getting nothing, even if we played well. I think we did at least as well as most people hoped.

Against Newcastle we had a bad day. It happens. They to their credit had a very good one. Even so, we only just lost; how often do you see Guzan not make that sort of save which he should have? Maybe he was jet lagged. So maybe was Weimann; he does fade if he's played to much.

I reckoned that by Xmas we'll be top half, not just mid table. I still do.
