William
He should come out and apologise.
jumps before he gets near

Which you would, if somebody's boot was heading towards your crown jewels...
no you wouldn't you would turn your body, he was going for the dive, his own fault he got hurt.
Is that the challenge where Coutinho got hurt?
Williams was being touted for us and Arsenal during the close season. Neither club made any offer. good. What his actions demonstrated when he took Phillipe out of the game was that he was a poorer defender than Phillipe is an attacker and that he had to resort to foul play to stop him, no more, no less. Our loss; the wee man really has been outstanding since January. We will miss him, Luis won't fill the void, he is a completely different player. The young guns who I saw last night walloping the Sunderland Uner 21s are good, Brannaghan Rossiter et al are worthy of a look.
My main if not sole concern is the capital One Cup or whatever this week's name for it is. He will deffo be missed on that one.
I wish him a speedy recovery.

If he had have kept running would have had a bruise at best

Yes, and it's clear there was plenty of time to do that.
Yeah, ok, Diggers, your team's players take evasive action, and everybody else's dive.
Standard stuff....yawn.

some top reactions here.
never claimed arsenal players dont dive, stop being an idiot just because I am not calling for williams to be hung.
clearly I do have a fair as I understand that a good way to protect my balls if something is heading toward them is to either a) cover them with my hands or b) turn away. Not throw my arms in the air and jump into whatever it is that is about to damage my mellons
You could tell by the wry smile on Williams' face after that he knew exactly what he was doing. Coutinho had him on toast before that.
If that's the challenge in the clip that caused the injury, then you can't blame Williams. There was hardly any contact,it was leap that did the damage.

Tweedy, to put it into context, it's like you losing Ozil for a chunk, put Cazorla is coming back. No big deal then right?
He's a bigger player for us than a lot of people think.
================
So in this scenario Ozil would be Coutinho and Carzorla (an excellent player but not quite as good) would be Suarez?!
Am I missing something? Suarez is one of the finest forwards in world football, linked up extrememly well with Sturridge and is a proven player at both domestic and international level but suddenly Coutinho is better!
Christ Biscan, I thought I liked Coutinho as much as the next Liverpool fan but if you put him above Suarez then I just can't agree.
This is obviously bad news but injuries happen. At least we have Suarez returning, Moses looking promising and Sterling hitting a bit of form. The squad will hopefully compensate.
*it was the leap that did the damage.
Sterling Work (U6997)
I think he is just saying he would prefer both in the side as they are our two most creative players. He isn't saying Coutinho is better just that its better when both are available.
Losing one on the verge of the other coming back is not good, what if Luis gets injured??
Really Sterling? It was pretty obvious the point I was trying to make.
I'm not sure if an attempt at humour, or if you're just being really pedantic.
stop being an idiot just because I am not calling for williams to be hung.

That reads like something Vicky Pollard might say...
you know I'm right so you keep trying to change it to personal insults

Cobtinhonob - well yeah, I'd like a fully fit squad and BR having tough choices to make. Maybe I just read too much into the comparison!

It's entirely feasible that your leg can end up in somebody's way, like that.
But what about the little jab of the foot at the end, after he knows he's not getting the ball, and only the man?
I don't agree with giving players abuse on Twitter, it only reflects badly on the people who do it, but Williams IS a bit of an ^rse, and he was an ^rse long before he made that challenge.
