Good result today. Our away performances have been very good.

I think a few players still need to improve, but Lambert is brave in his decisions and keeps players on their toes.

Onwards & upwards

All away performances have been good. Such a shame we can't perform at home. Hopefully that can change against City next week.

However, still some issues. When Gabby went off we looked poor going forward, and if Benteke is out for long then I'm worried. We also find it very difficult to keep possession and are very much a counter attacking team. I do wish we were able to pass the ball better and not launch the ball high so much. Tonev was very poor in the final third today and needs to improve his decision making massively - he wasted several great opportunities today by shooting wildly when he could have passed to a team mate.

What is reassuring is that we have had a very difficult start having played three of last season's top seven, two away from home, and we still have six points from five games. We beat a Norwich team who have only lost two home games this year (both to us) and not many teams will win there this season. Our front three is as good as any in the league and that clean sheet will hopefully give the back four some confidence. We also have an excellent goalkeeper. So there are a few things to be happy with. We desperately need to improve central midfield though - Delph, Westwood, El Ahmadi isn't strong enough in my opinion and there are no goals there and not much in the way of creativity either.
