Sako on the move?

Cant believe some of your comments about our players cinci. You said that Ward would never have had a career in football if he had been scouted as a left back when the reality is he has played over 150 times in the top two levels of English football in that position and got over 20 international caps as a left back. You said last week that Doyle was playing in a comfort zone and never goes beyond the call of duty, and now that we are carrying Sako. Laughable stuff really but I guess you and your mate from Florida would just say I am 'at it again' for pointing that out

Very interesting article tatter and lots of comments on both Sako leaving and Morgan's involvement.

Personally, I'd like Sako to stay at least until January, if not to the end of the season. However, we have someone at the helm who is a businessman who wants to make money. Hence a new stand we didn't really need and a building project for rich people wanting 500,000 quid houses.

Sako may have said he'd be happy to stay at the club if he wasn't sold, but the truth is, he wants Premiership football sooner rather than later. Granted I've not seen many games with him involved this season, but the consensus of opinion is, he drifts in and out of games too much. He has now called in sick and that just about sums the guy up. He plays for us,yet is his heart 100% in it? Will we miss him? Probably, but no one man constitutes a team. Maybe, just maybe we'll improve our performances with him gone and as has been mentioned earlier, we did play well with him out of the team. KJ will sort the midfield out if he goes, have no fear of that and maybe this guy Henry will provide more crosses for our forwards. Who knows.

I don't trust Morgan and haven't done since he built the new stand. Moxey does a decent job for me, but at the end of the day we have a builder in charge of our club and not someone with a footballing brain.

Jackett quoted at his press conference today as confirming new interest from Forest in Sako but the Wolves valuation of the player has not been met and he wont be going anywhere unless that happens

As for Morgan there are so many conflicting comments about him its ridiculous.

On the one hand people say he is here to make money. Well the only way he will make money is if Wolves are a Premier League team when he sells up so I see no problem in that.

Secondly that he is a businessman. What do people think the chairmen of other clubs are - people on the dole?

Thirdly that he is not a football man. Then on another day accuse him of being a life long Liverpool fan. I suspect he has watched more football games than virtually every club chairman in the country.

He made three diabolical managerial appointments in less than a year but whatever his motivations, he wants Wolves in the top flight as much as any supporter.

Very laughable DJ, but yet as i pointed out earlier, only 64% care if Sako leaves, not quite the lopsided view you like to portray here.
As for Ward, over 90% wanted to see him gone in the summer, he is a poor left back and would never have stood out at bohemians as one, hardly a daft comment as when looking at those leagues its the attacking options that most commonly get snapped up.

As for Sako, we shall see, the only evidence of how we can cope without him was against Port Vale, we performed well that day and seemed a more complete unit, something i have read in several places as well.
Would rather he stayed, but it is a long way from the end of our season.

As for Ward, over 90% wanted to see him gone in the summer

Where do you get this figure from, Cinci?

Over 90% of whom? People on here? People who read the E&S? People who read the E&S and are motivated to comment? 90% of all fans?

"Stats" can be made to fit almost any situation depending on the questions asked, the audience and the interpretation!

My apologies Cyp, a fairly substantial poll on another forum, with quite a cross section of fans......not exact, no polll ever is, but its as close to a good consensus as you will get.
The question being ''do you want to see the back of ward and foley''?

Sunny I don’t think anyone wants Sako to leave – he is a very talented player – but opinions differ massively on how badly we’ll miss him. Time will tell.
Henry is a right winger from everything that has been said about him. We do need a RW, Sig and Zeli have both blown hot and cold but I don’t think he’s Sako’s replacement and I very much hope that we’ll sign a replacement because – as far as I can see – we don’t have one amongst the current crop.

You’re probably in the majority when it comes to the new stand. I think the ground does need redeveloping and hope it gets back on track sooner rather than later. Morgan isn’t (and i don;t want) a sugar daddy. I want Wolves to stand on their own feet and be self financing. For that to happen and for us to be a fixture in the top flight means a higher wage bill which needs a higher turnover. Bums on seats will make that possible.

Cheers, Cinci.

I do find that figure staggering, though.

Ward had his limitations, but would have been a good asset at this level and always gave 100%.

Surprised me as well cyp, especially given that foley was included in the question.

I was wrong, it was only 86% that wanted them ''gone and redundant''

Cinci. I think rolling the two into a single vote is a bit misleading as anyone who wanted one or the other out would be likely to vote “out”.
There probably was a majority that wanted them BOTH to go but i think (and i recognise this is only my opinion) if it had been two separate polls that neither would have reached 86%.

hmmmmm, interesting point sir.

Possible, i agree, for me i would be surprised if so many dislike Foley as they do Ward, Ward is certainly marmite in the football world.
It is no different at Brighton either, he seems to have split the fans 50/50 already.

Reading through the comments I got the impression more wanted Foley out than Ward but that was just the first couple of pages and the majority of those were Mugwump who thinks MM is responsible for all world suffering and that anyone that has suckled on his teat carries the mark of Satan.

Honestly that woman’s take on MM makes his fiercest critic on here look like MrBalanced.

You are inventing things to protect what you said cinci. What has people saying that they were happy for Ward to leave, and I was one of them, got to do with saying he would never have had a career if he was scouted as a left back. And its that comment I argued with you about. He played there as a regular in our promotion team and the one that stayed in the Premier League for three seasons and won international caps. That to me spells out he might have made a career in that position

And what has 64% of people saying they want Sako to stay got to do with your view that we are carrying him? He has had a few games this season when he hasn't played well, and for all of those I would blame Jackett for playing him out of position in a narrow midfield and causing the whole team to underperform. Whenever he has played in his best position on the left wing he has played well and Wolves have won well

been in Oz to long i would imagine.

The Foley situation is a strange one really, he never really did much wrong, was a consistant Right Back and then started getting injured and then moved about by Mick, he is like a different player these days which is a shame.
I think its as much ''hatred by association'' with him, as it is with a few others, Stearman for example.

I use those points DJ because you would have us believe i stand alone with these opinions, when clearly i do not.

I certain percentage of fans, faced with a player leaving, will always think that if he doesn’t want to be at their team they don’t want him at their team.
I wonder what a poll on a Milwall site would say about Henry, or a poll on a Blades site about McDonald.
Same with Sako. Now we know he’s going plenty will think “sod off then” but I doubt a poll last week would have come up with over 60% wanting him gone.

posted on 3/10/13

So cinci who else have you heard say Ward would never have had a career if scouted as a left back, that Doyle is playing in a comfort zone and that we carry Sako. Cause those are the points I disputed with you

Latest reports saying that contrary to earlier reports Sako did in fact turn up for training today but was sent home ill. Also hearing that Sigurdarson has a back injury and is doubtful for the weekend.

Also reading confirmation that the Carlisle away game next weekend has now as expected been postponed due to international call ups. It will now be on Tuesday November 5th. A fine trip for midweek!
