Yes please !!
He'd be Another piece to the evolving jigsaw!

Can you honestly see these yanks wanting to pay his wages, after him being Croation manager?
Why do you think we got Steve Mac, Simmo and Steele on board?
Cause we didn't have to pay any compensation.
Not in a million month of Sundays.
Not with these penny pinching yanks

Why would Derby have to pay compensation? He's been sacked by Croatia, right? Surely That makes him a free agent?

posted on 16/10/13

There's a reason Croatia sacked him!

Great player, great captain, but is he a great defensive coach? That's what we need!

I've got nothing but love for Igor but it takes more than being a legend to coach: are we happy to gamble (again) after the exploits of Garner and Taylor?

Finland, I didn't say we would have to pay compensation, I was just stating the reason we have Steve Mac, Simmo, and Steele is cause we didn't have to pay compensation for them.
I was just saying the yanks wouldn't pay Igors wages.
You need to read things through properly before you comment.

I'm gutted for Stimac leaving the Croatia job. They are a seeded team in the play-offs and still have a good chance of getting to Brazil. I'm more gutted that Igor left me and mylad tickets for the game against scotland last night but I couldn't get up to watch it.

I wish people would stop clamouring for Igor to come back. Leave his history with Derby where it is.

Wassa, thanks for your clarification.

The little dig was unnecessary though.

Yeah, I want Ted McMinn and Wrighty an all. Dave Mackay please, oh and Kevin Hector too while you're at it. Maybe Steve Sutton or Les Green to oversee Eric Steele or at best Shilton if he's available.

Meantime is Phil Gee available to give the stadium a lick of paint?

I see GSE just bought themselves another 5 years

I think it's more to do with acknowledging that they've finally done something positive rather than accept the drift into stagnant mediocrity that has reinvigorated the optimism of many Rams; it doesn't wipe the slate clean, nor does it grant them a free pass to drift along some more.

If anything, I think it has raised the expectations bar and so has probably turned the screw on themselves far more than they previously had. A lot of patience was extended by people who didn't want to rock the Clough boat but that shield has gone now, and I doubt very much if there's any sentimentality left in the longer term. Yes, people are pleased that the present crew are ex-Rams, but incredibly I think there was more empathy for the Son Of even though he was a Forest stalwart than there will be for three of our own Old Boys.

I think the only thing that will now be a barrier to pressure being brought to bear on GSE andthe investors is results on the pitch: the most honest assessment of the club's management in a sporting context, and exactly the way that it should be. You should be celebrating that fact, not mourning it.

Problem, reaction, solution. Same old ethics employed.

I don't need coaching from you 666. It amazes me that so many Rams fans hail Stimac as a hero and Derby through and through. Seems alot have forgotten how he left the club. How, when the going started to get tough in the Prem, he disappeared onto the injury list and when it got tougher disappeared althogether to West Ham.

Typical Brit trait I guess, you only have to look at how Cricket Clubs drool over overseas players regardless of talent and local lads miss out. Same principal. Oh, he's foreign so he MUST be good.

Im sure the thread you wrote above was written with the best intentions for me. Sorry though, GSE have just bought themselves more time that is all.

given the previous appointment and performance of the board, the owners and GSE deserve your (and others) cynicism.

I do think however, that the move they've made in appointing McClaren and co does go down as a positive move. It's hardly the punt that the likes of Blackburn and Wolves have made recently on unknown coaches and the like.

As for the time they have, they bought that when they bought the club, and they have as long as it takes for someone to buy them out.

As for Stimac, I personally think it would be manager or nothing for Igor. He's a free spirit and I certainly cannot imagine him playing second fiddle to anyone.

"As for the time they have, they bought that when they bought the club, and they have as long as it takes for someone to buy them out."

Resigned to fate then. Fair enough. Ever seen a p155ed off Ram, for real? They just keep coming back again and again, regardless of size and mass of the opponent.

OOE likens some critical folks to brick wall headbangers. Well the passive version of a Ram is a sheep or a Ram without horns. Flight before fight. Will turn a blind eye to danger in the forlorn hope that it will just disappear and when the chase starts they group together for safety in numbers and wait to get picked off one by one.

Sheep or Ram Mostyn?

I have no idea what you're talking about

But I think there are more important things in life to stand up against, and more influential, morally corrupt and evil people in the world to get worked up about, than a bunch of people who aren't as committed as WE want them to be!

Thats your version Mostyn, isn't it. That last sentence?

And its easy to laugh at what folks say and think, but its a little harder to respond with some sense, so stick a smiley in there for good measure, just to reinforce the comical side to your reaction.

Very good Mostyn, your handlers will be proud!

Back to the thread, this is a none starter.

1) You don't go from being coach of the national side to defensive coach of a 2nd tier football team unless you are desperate.
2) The wages would be prohibitive.
3) Does he have a track record of being a defensive coach? Just because you were a good defender doesn't naturally mean that you are a good defensive coach.

SDS, no, not at all, your nonsensical "Well the passive version of a Ram is a sheep or a Ram without horns. Flight before fight. Will turn a blind eye to danger in the forlorn hope that it will just disappear and when the chase starts they group together for safety in numbers and wait to get picked off one by one." is absolutely NOTHING to do with Derby County or GSE, just some bizarre ramble that makes no sense.

As for my version, well, ignore the people that are robbing my pension, ignore the people that are increasing my taxes, ignore the people that are closing down my local businesses and moving them abroad for cheaper labour, ignore the people that are starting wars in our name but for their own gain, ignore the people that are fixing the prices of oil, water, food, insurance, fuel, domestic fuel, etc etc etc and ruining my life, and focus all my anger on a load of blokes who were conned into buying a football club and are being forced to pump £7m a year into it to stop if from going under... yeah that makes sense, why didn't I think of that!??

perhaps stop talking riddles and speaking in sentences that relate to what's actually going on and then I will understand, there's an idea.

oh look, a mole-hill....

Hi Mostyn,

Whilst you're at it you can also ignore all those private companies who are using their Tory friends to hand them contracts to run national organisations such as NHS, Olympics security, prisons, probation services etc and making a mess of them all, at higher costs and poorer services for the public.

But to get back to the topic, I don't see why we need another layer of management at DCFC.

Mostyn, I think you need to talk to TEG to help you make sense of it all.

posted on 17/10/13

ay up Mostyn, why don't you tell the members on here what Mr Rush thought of Pearson and Glick.
