Can't wait for Sunday's match. Think both teams will be looking for the win and so it should be a cracking match

Trueman

The reason Villa currently have 3 points less than Spurs is because Villa played Arsenla, City, Liverpool and Chelsea. I am sure Spurs wouldn't get more than 2 points from those fixtures

WTF are Arsenla.

And just for the record Spurs took 10 points off those four teams last season, beating Arsenal, City and Liverpool and drawing with Chelsea. Not very good at this are you.

@sandy_brown

No response for my previous comment?

You lost to Arsenal and managed to get a draw against Chelsea at home in this season...even after spending 110mil.

Expect a big win for Villa..

a big win for villa

when was the last time villa actually had a big win?

posted on 17/10/13

aston villa are just another set of claret and blue nobodies.

That nobodies team is superior for 93 years out of 138 over Spurs. Not bad.

Spurs did well between 1950-1974. But, rest of the history is filled with wooden spoons.

i said this was maf ages ago... its probably not as the grammar is too good, more likely to be holte legends

Is your second string any better than your first though?

Ours is

@sandy_brown

How do you call it a second string when two of the starting IX in that team cost you more than 50mil?

Who are these maf and holte legends?

comment by Chronic (U3423)

posted on 17/10/13

it was second string because none of them were our first choice players..

quite simple really

I wouldn't read to much into the carling cup game really. Sunday will be a different game.

"None" ?

Walker, Paulinho, Sandro, Vertonghen and Lamela indeed are not your first choice players

In fairness, when men rode penny farthings, kids went to work cleaning chimneys and everyone shat in the streets - Villa were a good team

..of course, anyone who has been to Aston would know it still smells the same, and that explains why people like Trueman think Villa are still a big club.

But alas, Villa will be remembered in the annals of history, as a team that used to be good in a previous century.

isnt it normal for your first choice players to start league games for you?

how many games have lamela and sandro started so far this season for us in the league?

Who remembers beating Villa away with 10 men? That's when they were half decent.

Then last year's 4-0 at the dump.

And again this year.

8 goals, 6 points, 2 clean sheets.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Have i missed something? do you get points for winning a Carling Cup match, oh dear

Lads, lads, remember this is just a game. A bit of light hearted entertainment that we should all enjoy in the spirit in which it's meant to be played.

And when Spurs limp back to White Heart Lame on Sunday evening, should they be despondent in their defeat? No, they too should joyful in that glimpse of better things which their opponents have treated them to.

Kings road, I was going to say something but there's no point arguing with doovde as his football knowledge is limited at best, at least with chronic you can actually have a decent debate with.
