The reason I liked schumacher was his approach to racing. A methodical and very intelligent approach and his endless desire to make improvements. He was a driver who was wholly dedicated to his sport and was bloody quick in the dry or in the wet.
He also had the courage to take on a significant challenge of turning the hapless ferrari team into champions again.
Regarding the legality or illegality of cars, would you like to comment on the blown diffuser, illegal engine maps, holes in the floor, flexi wings and flexi floors at redbull?
I have never read a post on this forum, or any other, that claimed that a member hated Vettel.
Since 2007 I have however read a constant stream of hatred towards Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher by one extremely disturbed individual that is hero worshipped by people like JPB and some other people that praise Vettel because they do not know very much about F1. They then run over to Google and Wiki without understanding the context.
The disturbed individual hates Schumacher for exactly the same reasons that he praises Vettel.
Michael Schumacher was better than Prost and Senna combined. He took F1 driver status to a new level. He took his physical fitness seriously and set new bench marks for the modern day driver. Compare Vettel with Schumacher and Vettel will always come off second best on every criteria.
The only problem with Schumacher was his lack of respect for any other driver. This lack of respect led to him doing the illegal things he did. But he got punished for them. If he would have played straight his career record would be even more impressive than it currently is.

" micheal schumacher was better than prost and senna combined "
----- nearly fell off my stool laughing at that one
we all saw how good schumacher was when all his unfair manufactured advantages were taken away at mercedes and rosberg blew him off for the best part of 3 yrs
"Michael Schumacher was better than Prost and Senna combined."

Just to clarify this, are we saying then that if there had been a 3rd mclaren with schumacher in it, then he would have scored more points than senna and prost's combined points total in the same season ?

No, I am not saying that at all.
It is a hypothetical question anyway as there is no third car and in 1988/89 Michael was driving Formula Ford and Formula 3.
I am stating that in my opinion he embodied the acknowledged different strengths of both drivers and added his own.

its a shame none of the experts or the experts all time great polls agree with you -
what were the individual strengths of each driver then and what did schumacher have that prost and senna didnt then -
---- dont forget to add all the unfair manufactured advantages and team orders that he had thruout his career

agreed micheal was a little older in his " 2nd career " with merc but the fact that rosberg blew him off at mercedes is an indicator as to how good he actually was without the multitude of manufactured advantages he enjoyed in his first career -
personally i'd say that's a bit harsh martial.
reckon he was some way past his best with merc.
his ferrari was vastly more dominant than the current red bull though, but for me michael's wet drives mark him out as a top driver. better than senna + prost is just ridiculous though.

yeh -- you could be right , but micheal would have made sure he was at peak fitness when he came back and the cars get easier to drive as the technology and sophistication improves every season so i was expecting alot more from micheal ,
i hear what you are saying about the age thing , when you look in depth at his first career and all the tyre advantages , team orders , rory byrne bespoke chassis advantages , unlimited testing because ferrari had there own track ,weak driver era , etc his domination was not hard to understand and when he had none of those advantages in his merc career to some extent i believe he was found out -
agree with you about prost and senna , after watching all 3 drivers complete careers micheal to me was a couple of levels beneath those two ,
must admit he was never to shabby in the wet in his early ferrari days mainly because williams at the time very often flucked up on there choice of tyres at the time which obviously made micheal look good -
to get micheals wet weather talent into perspective , senna had an inferior mclaren in 93 with an underpowered ford engine and active suspension that never worked properly until portugal which was 3 races from the end and he decimated micheal in all 3 of the wet races that year ,
so to be honest for me it was very hard to judge exactly how good micheal actually was because his career was one of so many manufactured advantages --

I knew he could not resist the desperation to amuse himself by being annoying and then getting laughed at on the Spurs section of JA606 only to then pop over to the F1 section to get more of the same. Eventually, both Admins will again run out of patience with him.
He should not have wasted his energy when an episode of Dads Army would have been funnier.
Well, he managed so far to last 2 days. Will he last 3?
I think it is best to take POB's advice and just filter him.
I will now filter JPB and therefore not be able to view his edit to correct the title of his article.

none of the experts agree with him on anything.
he's a clueless mug.
Again it's re-writing history. 7 World Championships & rebuilding a broken Ferrari team mean nothing because as a 41-year-old in a duff car he couldn't hack it.
Schumacher was the best, Vettel is currently the best. Deal with it.
