He has wound up a lot of scousers it seems.
Job done, even in retirement.
Fergie's comments about Gerrard confuse me because I can remember Fergie once saying that if he could have brought any player to OT at that time it would have been Gerrard.
I just think its sour grapes. Had Gerrard played for Utd they probably would have won more Champions Leagues than they did under Fergie.
As great as Fergie was he only won two Champions Leagues and he needed a huge slice of luck on both occasions.
superb,
you need luck to win those competitions, as a chelsea fan you should know that as much as anyone.
Gerrard is Keane and Scholes combined so that ends that argument.
Superb.
You could also say we have been unlucky in the CL a number of times too.
CL is based on luck and crap European referees.
Two finals against one of the best sides I've seen in my time.
Cheated out of the CL last season.
Cheated out of the CL a few years ago against Bayern Munich and that diving Ribery.
He's certainly managed to wind us Liverpool fans up with his moronic comments.
He's also successfully managed to further destabilise ManYoo, highlight his obsession with Liverpool, tarnish his legacy as the greatest manager in recent history and show himself up to be the bitter, hypocritical vile human being he is. He proclaims himself to be a staunch left-wing socialist yet he thinks nothing of stabbing fellow professionals in the back in order to make millions from book sales. He should be embarrassed with himself.
Read the book, not quotes from daily mail
People really should not be commenting on the book without reading even part of it. If you judge it by the sound bites, you're going to be seriously disappointed when you actually read it.
I've got about half way through it (just about to start the Liverpool chapter) and throughout, though he's made remarks about Keane/Beckham's fall outs, etc, he has also been effervescent in the praise for those players.
If the theme continues in to the Liverpool chapter, and beyond, then I can quite honestly say that every single preconception about Fergie using the book as a basis for publicising his grudges, is extremely far off the mark.
They are bitter because he well and truly knocked them off their perch.
Yes he is right Gerard is/was never on the level as Keane and scholes. Gerrard was always dominated by them 2.
It just goes to show people are still completely obsessed with SAF. They will not stop talking about him.

the scousers and co. are just reading snippets from newspapers. Quotes taken out of context.
The usual childish nonsense from a manu fanboy.
Clearly tha mankz are so wound up by the savaging that furrgy's book has received from professionals and supporters alike that they feel the need to try and redress the balance by defending the undefendable.
The book is a rather pitiful reminder of his bitterness at being second best to Liverpool. It must be galling to have blurted out to one and all that he would 'knock LFC of it's perch' and then have to retire with us still the most successful English club of all time.
C'est la vie.

==========================
Yeah they were that good that we won 3 times at OT during the Keane and Scholes partnership
Lets be honest, it doesn't take very much to wind up the scousers
I always considered Gerrard to be a very good player, but I never thought he was on the level of Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane etc - The top, top players.

Do you honestly believe what you just wrote
Not only did he match you he massively surpassed you. The one thing he didn't do great in which he admitted himself was champions league.

No, it isn't. Please, read the book then form an opinion. I don't care who thinks which player is the best, I don't care to compare Gerrard to Keane/Scholes. What I do care about is people making their minds up about a book based on sound bites when they clearly have not read it.
Sir Robert Paisley is possibly the most thick poster on 606.
Haven't formed that opinion from soundbites, Jay.

What a deluded comment. When has anyone from the LFC board said Gerrard is in that bracket?

3 times in 10 yrs and just because you won doesn't mean gerrard dominated tips scholes & Keane. Majority of matches I watched gerrard was anonymous
What I will say is that it is definitely worth picking up if you've got a tenner lying around.
This book will probably be one of if not the best selling sports book of all time in this country. Simply because of the publicity it has received. Well done SAF another master stroke. Something these dimwit scousers don't understand

does the first part of the book talk about him growing up?
i already read all that in his first book
No, not really, it skips a hell of a lot, it's just kind of a chapter or 2 that covers pretty much everything up to about 95 - with little 'flashbacks' when talking about players.
There's a section on the class of 92 aswell.
