it's not all about the goals otherwise Defoe nad Bent would have played for top clubs, all they do is poach but top strikers need to score goals and link up play as well.

So Spurs aren't a top club despite finishing top 5 six times in the last 8 or 9 seasons?
Soldado has played his part this year. His all round game has been better than expected, but his finishing has been poorer than expected.
He has certainly played a more important role since avb departed. He was very isolated in avb's negative system.

I'm not even trying to make Defoe or Bent out to be great goalscorers either. They aren't the best and I can see why clubs in the top 4 hadn't gone for them.
