So still no precedence, right you are boss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's loads of precedent.
Countless players have been sent off for preventing a one-on-one. It happens in the PL every week
-----
Yeah, when the player duelling the one on one has the ball.
No precedence for blocking the ball going to that player with a handball.
They should change the rule so it shouldn't be. It's too harsh for a team to concede a pen and be reduced to 10 men from that. A yellow and pen should be sufficient.
-----------------------------
100 pct agree.
I've been saying this for as long as I can remember. It's a ridiculous rule.
It wasn't even a cross Just a pass across goal for a 1 on 1, defo red
Gibbs/Oxlade got sent off vs Chelsea for a handball even though the shot was going wide.

He handballed a shot that the ref believed to be goalbound.
How is that even the same FFS?!
Go on, say the C word..

Why is it even a rule anyway? It's not as if it will encourage players to want to use their hands more as they'd still be punished by conceding a pen.
Fact is Iniesta was last man. The ball was passed to AG and he stuck out his hand like a GK to block the ball. He was last man so its a red all day long.
Weather it's a trip, push, shirt pull or handball if you are the last man it's a red. They are the rules so deal with it. Arsenal and others have been screwed over many times and so should Barcelona.
Should have been a red imo. Iniesta did it deliberately because he knew it was a clear goalscoring opportunity - that's clear as daylight to me.

So you say but you've not shown any precedence to say it's a red all day long.
Alright?
Just because your team may have got a tough decision in your eyes and perhaps due to it never won the European cup, doesn't mean everything is a red card.
Whoever fouled Babel didn't get a red card. Could argue he was last man before Babel crossed it.
If Felipe Luis shot and Iniesta blocked it, could have been a red, but he was going to give it to another player, it could not have gone to him cleanly, could have miscontrolled it or whatever.. too many variables.
Hence why you've not seen someone get a red card for blocking a pass or cross with their hand.
Fact is Barça are out. Red or no red, pen or no pen, the result stands.
The Iniesta incident was redundant anyway. MSN were complete shiiite and couldn't even score a goal between them.

Felipe Luis attacked brilliantly, thought he held on too long..
Atletico are the rope-a-dope equivalent of football, they can absorb so much pressure and then can burst forward like they did.

It was going to be a sweat goal. Defo red
----------------------------------------------------------------------
refs should take that into account
if was a good move or player about to bicycle kick it in, should be straight red
if was gonna be a tap-in, then just a yellow
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Basically if it's Ronaldo in the box then always a yellow.
Barcelona had 77% possession vs Atletico Madrid last night but didn't score! They've lost 3 of their last 4 games in all competitions.
I wonder if pool can pull it off tonight
