they completly nulified Spain's key threats, especially in the 2nd half, then created plenty of their own chances.

Other than the 2 clangers Ramos and De Gea dropped early in the first half and the goals, Croatia created little. Only remember Perisic's header from a Srna cross. Ramos himself had 2 similar clear headers missed and wasted a penalty. Even if Croatia created more, it was marginal: certainly not enough to say they "outplayed" a Spanish team with more shots and 62% possesion.

spain are a better team than croatia, especially without Modric... So to completly nulify them while creating and scoring the goals that win the game, to me at least, is both outplaying and out thinking them

When has that ever happened in football?
Points, head to head, and, or gd has always been the way. Then goals scored. Wins is way down on the list. Pointless doing it in a three game group stage as well.
If Sweden or Northern Ireland win, Turkey will likely go out.
